Entry sixty-two

Y'know, being friends with twins is actually kinda fun.
Especially when they're polar opposites of each other xD
Alfie and George. Identical twins, yet they couldn't be less alike in personality.
And I'm close friends with both of them. It's a lot of fun.

George is an inch taller than me. And hell, he doesn't let me forget it. Indeed, within 5 minutes of us two meeting up he'll always make a height joke aimed at me being shorter. I pretend that I'm annoyed and protest every time, and I kind of am because I hate being short and pretty much everyone knows it xD But at the same time, I find it fun. I know he doesn't mean the mean words that he says sometimes. We're so alike, and both of us deny it every time Alfie points it out, which makes him laugh. George is a lot happier and more open than Alfie is. It's funny, really. People see George as social and more approachable, and he's willing enough to chat to them, although if someone annoying approaches he'll always respond curtly. George cares about me, but he doesn't show it in the same way that Alfie does, he sort of shows it through a mixture of sarcastic comments and half-hearted insults that he doesn't really mean, but he can be serious at times and help me out if he sees me struggling.

Every time Alfie says how us two are so alike, we both look at him and go "Fuck you, we're not!" and he just laughs.

Alfie is an inch taller than George, which makes it worse for me because I'm the shortest. His way of showing it is not by making a height joke, but he'll pat me on the head if I appear to get annoyed, to which I just puff out my cheeks and pout, which makes both of them laugh. Alfie's a lot more closed-off, he doesn't really like talking to people and most people see him as cold and unapproachable. They wonder how I've become so close to him. In truth, we're alike in a lot of ways. We've both had pretty similar, torturous pasts, for one thing. We found that out in year 8, when we both had to watch the main office for visitors as is mandatory for our school. Somehow we ended up talking about our past, and I ended up breaking down at the bad memories. He doesn't like hugs, but he actually patted me on the back and reassured me. Since then, we've grown quite close. He's supportive and caring, and recently, because he's been influenced by my "overly hyper" personality as he puts it, he's started smiling more. I was the first person to make him laugh since joining this school that wasn't out of spite.

Honestly, they're kinda representative of the two of the three or four different sides to me. Alfie's quiet and reserved in class, and spiteful to those who he doesn't like, whereas George is approachable and hyper-happy all the time. The two of them are actually really cool friends and I'm grateful that I have them xD
