When The Dog Gets Loose

One minute I was putting a leash on him
The next minute he slips from my grip and runs to the cars.
He loves car rides.
I put my other dog who was loose in the backyard, and tried to deal with the more aggressive one.
He was hopping on the cars, trying to get in.
I tried to grab him, and then he bolted once again.
This time, he was headed to escape.
He bolted to the trees that lined my house, took a pee, and continued on.
He went to the stop sign, which I never had the guts to walk him to, sniffed, turned his head around, looked at me, then sprinted in the other direction.
He was up a street in like 30 seconds. I was chasing him for what seemed like hours.
A mail lady approached me, and asked if it was my dog, I said yes, she gave me a few treats and I ran off looking for him.
He was in someone's yard, peeing, and I was mortified.
Considering I live in a tiny town, I saw everyone one I knew. My neighbrs, my best friends mother, and a cute boy.
As I turned the corner onto the main road, I saw a few boys playing lacrosse. They stopped, looked at me, sweaty faced, out of breath and running. And they immediately took after him. I should've said "hi" or "thank you" but all I could think about was my dog.
He was hiding behind a stone statue of a horse, and was cowering, and panting.
He is a fat little bugger.
I threw him a treat
He ate it
Then, I held out my hand, and he came to me. I held his collar, and onthe other side of the road, I see my brother leash in hand coming in for the rescue.

So, I wanted adventure, and I got it evidently.
Now, I am off to go drink some water, and prevent myself from dying from all of the physical exertion I did today.
