Basketball Lunch and Awards

I'm simply going to recap yesterday and today. So yesterday was our basketball lunch and award ceremony. I was late because my mom took forever to cook. So when I finally got there at 2:30, I ate and soon enough awards were underway. Mr. McCourt started by giving Ava her 1000 point ball and apologizing for some things he said at the underclassmen awards. He promised that any and all comments on the team would be planned out, which Coach Quas had index cards for. Anyway, JV was introduced first. When Quas got to me, he said all the great things I had done this year. He said I was a great rebounder, and I was going to make a huge impact on varsity next year. He also said I was so cheerful, and never in a bad mood, and I was always working on my ball handling skills when other girls were working on their shots. I think the best part of that day was when I was awarded the Most Improved award from the whole season. It felt good to see that my coach saw how hard I had worked all season long, and that I really improved. After the JV awards, we watched a video of the season and the varsity got their awards. Ava got MVP with a big trophy to go with it, and another senior year basketball. I was really happy for her. The end of the party was funny, due to Coach Quas refusing to crack a joke, just for old times sake. It was pretty great.
Now today, during health, on my way back to class from trying out for the 3-point contest for March Madness 2013, I ran into Mr.McCourt by the copy room. I said hi and he replied in a cheerful voice,"Hey most improved athlete!" I was flattered, and he told me that my biggest weak spot was my shooting: something I knew I had to work on. It was kin of nice to talk with him after the season ended, and I could tell he was excited for me to play in summer league, as he brought it up to make sure I was playing.
