Life, Or Something Like It

Work

Kind of a busy today at work. It seems I got my wish; I really enjoy re-imaging machines. Something pleasurable in loading an operating system and turning something that was merely a bare metal thing into an actual usable computer. While there are certainly more effective ways of utilizing my time, and better strategies for re-imaging a machine manually (like, autonomously) I still enjoy the process.

I use to wish I could do more of that, and today I got my wish as I had to re-image machines to quickly replace failed ones.

On a random note, some of my coworkers are kind of childish, I feel. I feel like I'm being the target of frustration for policies I had no hand in implementing. Short story, my section of the department is tasked with handling and maintaining hardware. Over time, we've also been tasked with the smaller work from the other sections. Servers, network, and software related duties. While I certainly don't mind helping, I do mind when I'm tasked with increasingly non-hardware related issues without proper compensation.

At any rate. It's only 8 hours out of the day that I interact with these people. So. Not so bad, right? In the end, they're my coworkers. We're a team. I should be far more supportive. Well. Compensation appropriate, I mean.

After all. My skills and time doesn't come cheap, here.
