My disappointment

Dear reader,

Eh, it's another entry about a failed relationship. A few weeks ago I became involved with a new guy, and everything was going really super well. We never became official, but we hung out a lot, kissed, talked all the time, basic honeymoon stage activities. But now we don't speak anymore.
Here's my issue: this is how it always is. I don't know if the case is that he doesn't want to be involved with me or not. I like to think that he does have feelings for me but that he's just too busy for a relationship, which is completely true. We used to wait until 2AM to hang out just because that's when he got home from work (aka I would wait up, go to his house until about 6, not sleep, die a little on the inside, and repeat).
But right before things ended and we gradually just stopped talking, he began to speak to me on a more serious note. And by that I mean: "I want you to come out with me and my friends." "I want to hang out with you during the day and outside of my house." "I want to spend a lot more time with you."
But now we don't talk anymore. I text him and he doesn't answer, or he'll stop answering mid-conversation. I know where I went wrong: I got my hopes up. That's why I'm disappointed. I was so sure that this could be something that would work, even for a little while. I mean, I don't know what the future will hold, but it's just been bothering me for a really long time and I just needed to vent to someone because I really don't feel comfortable talking to my friends about my life.
Meh.

-David
