Felling positive

had a usual day of driving... On my way to Baltimore once again, not sure why but feeling a bit more upbeat about life. I get a general feeling my life is going to move in a positive direction soon though not sure what that direction is. I am putting aside a lot of boyish things and focus on the things that really matter in life.

I remember something I read a long time ago. A Pshycology professor filled a glass jar with large pebbles. He then said the jar represented life, and the pebbles represented accomplishments in life. Such as graduating from high school, then college, getting married, children, then the big job promotions, buying a house, ect. He then asked the class if the jar was full. They all said yes. The professor said no you are wrong, then took a hand full of sand and poured it on top while shaking it a little. The sand filled all the gaps in between the pebbles, and he said now it is full...

He told the class the sand represented the little things in life. Such as walking an old lady accross the street, opening the door for a complete stranger and perhaps becoming friends, or changing a tire for someone on the side of the road. It is often the smallest of things in life that make the greatest difference in other lives. It is something I try to live by in my life.
