LG Optimus 2X Mobile Phone Review

It is easily portable weighing just 168 grams and this phone marks LGs entry into the tablet phone market. The screen comes with the usual four touch navigation buttons at the bottom. One of the new buttons added on is the 3D button in place of the camera shutter button. It allows users to directly get into the 3D app to click pictures or record videos instantaneously.

With the handset able to record content in 3D, it also becomes equally important to be able to share it with others. With a YouTube app preinstalled, this becomes very easy for users to do. In addition to the normally present connectivity options like Bluetooth, Wifi and 3G, it also offers an HDMi port allowing it to be connected to the larger screens of a TV when required. Personal organizer, USB syncing with mass storage, 1500mAh battery are all other features that make it appealing.

The LG optimus 3D phone makes the whole concept of 3D viewing and recording easier than ever, there is no need for any 3D glasses to see the effects on this one. The technology works by creating a 3D illusion using the twin cameras and an optimal distance at which it can be viewed. It also comes with an 8GB memory with video resolution of 1080p for 2D clips and 720p for video clips in 3D. This phone looks at making things easier with it being neither overwhelmingly large or with a too small keypad to struggle over.

With many speculating and waiting to get their hands on the LG optimus 3D the buzz is big and expectations are running high. Its prices are about 515 pounds and are not outrageously expensive considering all the features jam packed into it. The 3D tag is its biggest selling point and is something to be tried out for all the gadget enthusiasts out there. With an upcoming release in the markets in the summer, it's time to wait with bated breath.

The name 2x references how the dual core NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor offers 2 times the power and speed of other non-dual core handsets. While the Tegra 2 chip will no doubt be rolled out over a vast number of handsets throughout 2011, LG will be pleased to have got there first, and this shows when you consider the other features LG have loaded the device with. They certainly want to capitalize, and as we will see, they are likely to.

First up is the announcement of 1080p video recording. Using the on board 8 megapixel camera, 1080p recording is very impressive and certainly not common. As well as recording, the device can also playback both recordings and other stored videos onto larger screens using HDMI mirroring. A nice additional use of this feature is that games can be beamed to larger screens while the handset is still used as a controller.

Speaking of storage, the Optimus 2x comes with 8gb included and a microSD card slot which allows for the handset to be expanded by up to 32 further gigabytes, a set up that is nothing new.

The Optimus 2x has a second, front facing camera, which is 1.3mp and used for video communication. Along with the rear facing 8 mega pixel lens, this is a winning camera combination.

LG Optimus Phone, LG Optimus Phone, LG Optimus Phone
