Jacksonville, Florida

Yesterday I and another driver, Tom, arrived in Jacksonville, Florida. Tom is another of our company drivers, and we are delivering a couple loads to the port down here on Monday. On our way down here I asked our boss if it was alright if we got a hotel room for the weekend, since we would be laid over Saturday and Sunday here. Our boss said that was fine, and I found a Super 8 that we could drive our Semi trucks to and park for the weekend. Last night we took a cab to find a place to eat.

I had looked up on the internet and supposedly one of the best places to eat in Jacksonville Florida was a place called "Salty's Steak and Seafood". As it turns out it didn't look like much from the outside, and the inside didn't look like much either. Not to mention their alcohol selection was rather limited as well. Tom and I were looking for something with a little more atmosphere and selection for beer. I took a look at their menu and wasn't impressed there either.

So we ditched that place and walked 2 1/2 miles to a place we had passed in the cab on the way there that looked more to our liking. After a good meal and a few beers we called the cabbie and came back to our room for the night. We sat outside our room sipping on a few cold ones, shooting the bull, and watching the passers by. Although he and I couldn't say for certain, we has suspected the clerk at the front desk may have been dealing/selling drugs in the office. All I can say is, there were a lot people driving up, getting out of their cars, going in the office, then leaving. Even one guy on a scooter came and went. Tom and I had a chuckle about it really. Nothing that we could prove, nor were we going to ask anyhow.

Today was pretty fun filled as well. We had slept in and got up around 10:45 am. We got into my truck and bobtailed (drove without the trailer) toward Jackson Beaches. On the way there we stopped at a Denny's for breakfast. After we got to the beach we took off our shoes and walked down to the water, feeling the sand and water between our toes. This is the first time I have ever walked on an east coast beach, and had my feet in the Atlantic Ocean. It was colder than I expected but not terribly cold. We walked about a mile in one direction up the beach, admireing the eye candy as we went. There weren't a lot of people on the beach at this point in the day yet. But within a few hours there were a lot more people. And oh my god there were no shortage of young scantily clad hotties. Made me wish I were about a good 10 years younger again.

After a while we walked up onto the peir to get a better view. Man from up there I could look almost straight down into cleavage, lol. Hey what can I say... I'm a guy and if they want to show that much skin, I'm going to look. I took a few scenic shots of the beach, and Tom took one of me for my Facebook profile pic. After a while we grew bored with the beach and checked out some of the shops and bought a few souviners.

After that we headed out to Sonny's Rib Shack, and ate baby back ribs. Now we are sitting back at the hotel sipping on some cold ones again enjoying the evening. Only thing that would make this a perfect night would be a good woman in my arms right about now. Nothing against Tom, he just doesn't have the um, desierable equipment for my tastes haha. Overall I probably spent more money than I intended to but was a pretty good weekend. Makes me love my job when I can do things like this.
