down in my eyes
For some reason I am amused when I see the (drivers of the) trash trucks come around and go about their business. I remember when I was in elementary school when I'd peep out & watch those brave men at work, they had to do everything with manual labor. Pick up the cans~ up over their shoulder~ & dump the trash out. I'm sure the veterans on the job worshiped the fork-like grip the trucks had after they were first invented. It helps me wonder, what's next? What new inventions will technology offer that will make a world of a difference to those whom it affects? Sometimes I can't believe that I already am at the age that I am; when I first stumbled upon this diary site, I believe I was merely 19 years old. Now, at 28 years old, I am still without a career and I have no children; however, I have found the love of my life, and I have discovered the little things in life that make growing older worthwhile. I get tickled by the advancements in technology. For example, although text messaging has been around for several years now- & even the advent of digital cameras- items that I use on a frequent, if not daily basis, I am still as equally thrilled and amazed at its process & abilities as I was when they were first put on the market for us to use. Its creators are brilliant. I am no inventor, and I never intend to be... But I am excited to see what further creations the world would bring. & the kids raised after that time will say, "how did anyone live without This?!" But I'll know- we were able to- & we were even able to live gracefully.
