Jury Duty

I know it has been a few weeks since my last post & I have a
lot of catching up to do here so let's get started.

I have been in Sunrise for the last week and a half because
I was summoned for federal jury duty and the government
refused to excuse me from jury duty. Then I find that I
have to call everyday for two weeks so here we are 7 work
days into this thing and I still have not been asked to
report. This has been a very frustrating time for me. We
have been working tirelessly opening the hotel in Colon and
now I have to go to Florida to do nothing. On top of this I
miss my wife. I know she needs my help, she is working so
hard I just wish I could be there to help her but I am stuck
here for nothing. We also have a baby due in September so
this is just adding to our stress.

Since I am stuck here I have decided to make the best of it.
I have done some shopping for Susie and myself & I have
gotten a chance to see some of the guys.

Last night was my mom's birthday so we went to the Marlins
game as a family. Everybody had a great time at the game,
but on the way home we saw a man beating a woman on the side
of the turnpike. Mom pulled over and Brian and I got out of
the car and ran to the woman's aid. I confronted the guy
while Brian checked on the woman. After some yelling the
guy went to his girlfriend shoved her in the minivan went to
the drivers side and tried to leave. I got in front of the
car and when he tried to run me over I jumped on the hood
and eventually on to the roof. The guy drove about 500ft
down the turnpike with me on the roof before finally pulling
over. Long story short he was more concerned about getting
arrested because there was a warrant out for his arrest and
me damaging his mother's car than the woman he was beating
the shit out of.

I am very disappointed in society after last night. We
called 911 and nobody showed up and when we were arguing
with this scum bag on the side of the road not one car even
slowed down let alone pulled over.

Well not much else to say for now I am just ready to get
back to my wife and the hotel.

Matt
