The (Mis)Adventures of a Boring Middle-C

Just a little about myself... I'm 18 years old and I'm currently a student in
high school. I try to be funny and clever and I tend to think I am but I'm
pretty sure I'm being too kind to myself when I laugh at my own jokes... most
of them are just really cheesy. But that's ok. At least I get a kick out of them. I
don't think I really have any hobbies or habits... the only one is creative
writing, which I hope to be able to do exclusively one day as a career.
I love football. I love watching (and poorly playing) sports, but football is my
absolute favorite. My favorite team is the Indianapolis Colts and I'm a diehard
Peyton Manning fan, too, but I think mostly because he looks so darn good in
those tight football pants. I also love hockey and baseball, but fail miserably
at hockey and only relatively at baseball. My favorite teams of those sports
are the NY Rangers and the Baltimore Orioles, respectively.
I love music. I can't possibly name my favorite type or artist. There's too
many. I love all of it... country, pop, rock, pop rock, country rock, you name
it. I'll pretty much listen to anything... except Miley Cyrus. I don't understand
I love movies. Old ones. Really old movies. My favorite actors/actresses (both
past and present) are James Stewart, John Wayne, Audrey Hepburn, Gerard
Butler, Johnny Depp, Michael Cera, and Natalie Wood. My top movies are
Breakfast at Tiffany's, You Can't Take it With You, Mr. Smith Goes to
Washington, It's a Wonderful Life, McClintock, Night at the Museum 1 & 2,
Where the Wild Things Are, Dear Frankie, and Miracle. I'll watch any of those
movies at any time.
I don't really watch a ton of TV, but I always make sure to stay tuned into The
Office and Community. I always love CSI and CSI:NY reruns, too. For some
reason, I just don't like the newer episodes as much. There are several
canceled shows that I miss, too, like Life and The Class. I hate when shows
get canceled right in the middle!
BOOKS!! Books make my world turn. I think I've read so many that my brain
doesn't comprehend anything unless it's printed in TImes New Roman on a
soft white piece of paper. I adore Mark Twain and J.R.R. Tolkien. Mostly I read
older books just because I guess I like books with no shebang! or explosions.
I like books with no action but lots of character development. It sounds
stupid, but I can't read books with boring or annoying characters who go on
magnificent quests and accomplish all these amazing feats. I also CANNOT
TOLERATE Twilight. I think that's the only thing on this earth that I truly and
fully hate. I just do not understand the appeal or why it seems to be so
addictive. I read the first 3 books, just trying to understand why the heck
they're so popular. I couldn't understand. I also couldn't understand why I
wasted a week reading all of them.
I have a group of friends that I adore and share everything with. I love them
to death... or until graduation...
I'm very religious, also. I do belong to a specific Christian religion, but I also
feel that discussing religion makes people judge you before they get a
chance to know you. I won't discuss my religion unless someone is genuinely
curious, but my religious upbringing is evident in the way I think, speak, and
live, so it'd be impossible to not notice it at some points. You'll never see a
curse word anywhere in this journal, just because I don't like saying them but
I don't judge others who do use them. Heck, I'm surrounded by words that
would make a sailor blush everyday at school, so I can't be too prude-ish
about that particular subject, or I'd be offended by everyone!
Anyway, this particular entry is rather long and boring so I'm going to wrap it
up and go to my 4th hour class, for anyone who read this, thank you for
listening to (or reading?) me! Have a good rest of the day.
