In Ushuaia having disembarked from Cruceros Australis cruise

Presently we´re in Ushuaia pronounced Oo shway ah the
southernmost city in the world. Yesterday we disembarked
from our cruise of almost four days, many disembarkations,
that included one to the island of Cape Horn. More later, as
I need to catch up on email. When I have a choice inclusion
to someone I copy and paste to here for greater efficiency!
All for the moment except to say today we fly a lengthy
journey to Buenos Aires. I stay up later than I´m used to
because the days are so long here and last night had an
engaging conversation with Pam N. from Colorado. But am more
or less alert between 5 and 6 am at present.

From email to my brother, Wayne:

Disembarked from the ship yesterday after a lovely cruise. I
and many in the group have this group cold that hangs on a
while and has typically caused laryngitis. Great time
viewing CApe Horn and learning about the Yamana natives of
the southernmost regions naked except for seal grease and
living in their canoes including keeping a fire going at all
points. Clothes too cumbersome and cold if they get wet!
Interesting perspective on something we take for granted.
Their demise stemmed from lots of things including western
diseases, but the whalers doing in seals and whales
contributed because they feasted on such (beached whales and
speared seals). Got Susie a set of earrings made by the
niece (Spanish name) of the last surviving Yamana woman
whose parents had not been married to other ethnic groups,
Cristine Calderon. PLus I bought a post card of CApe Horn
which photograph was done by a grandson (with a German name).
