Arrived now in Buenos Aires

Arrived around 10 am and met our Overseas Adventures Tours
agent, Marcello, at the airport. Very young and very
competent. Met a number of our fellow OAT people on this
trip; as usual with such trips, lively, pleasant, engaging.

Good trip: bus to O'Hare, AA plane to Miami and then a
lengthy transfer to terminal J (another security check) and
then a delightful hospitality on LAN airlines to B.A. which
is a long long way. An overnighter and I slept better than I
thought I would but still somewhat tired. Susan Doane struck
up a conversation with a delightful 13 y.o. girl who wishes
to learn English and who later on the plane sat near us and
helped me do sudoku on the in-flight entertainment center.

Free internet in the lobby of the Amerian Hotel. I ate
during the trip hoping that this will help my time/place
adjustment. The last already-paid meal for a few days
happens tomorrow after lunch. So I'll recommence my starting
a 24-hour fast after that meal and then continue as usual.

Buenos Aires turns out a lovely place, much a 1st world
country that I see deserves its appelation of the Paris of
the South, especially in its architecture and city layout.
Saw their grand obelisk in the center of the city -- or
universe depending who asked. BEaux ARts architecture: grand
if not grandiloquent.

Marcello gave us a few block tour around this area ending in
the mall. We ate in an outdoor restaurant with two people
from San Antonia -- Barbara -- and Houston -- name not
caught. Need to work on names
