Countdown...

I have about 5 days left here, then I'm going home. This has
been a long time coming, even though I didn't really expect
things to play out this way. I'm moving back home to live
with my family since I don't have a job yet. Its weird being
jobless, not in school, and with nothing to do. I guess I'll
learn how to be a real house wife/mom. Everything happens
for a reason, I guess. This should help my mom though - I'll
be able to cook and help with the kids. But how will this
help me? I feel like I’ll once again sacrifice my wants for
them, but its ok, this is what you do for family b/c they do
the same for you. Hopefully I can complete the Peace Corp
process quickly and be shipped out (if I'm accepted) within
the next couple months (I really have no idea how long this
usually takes). If it doesn't work out then I can start job
hunting and hopefully find something decent.

I went to Vegas with Big Z. We had fun. We got there on
Thursday evening, both very tired from the drive and lack of
sleep the night before (we left SJ @ ~4:30am). We took a nap
then headed out to get club passes. I'm so glad we learned
the system - collect passes from the clubs or concierge
during the day, then @ night bar hop and collect
readmittance stamps before the free passes expire, then hop
back to the ones we liked since we already have the
readmittance stamp to get in. With this method we usually
hop around to 3-4 clubs a night, we’re not limited to just
one per night and it costs nothing.

First we went to Tryst which was so nice - they played great
music, decent sized dance floor, nice patio, and cool
people. We met a promoter for Tao while there (more on that
later). That night we also hit up Tao and Jet. I never
remember going to Jet, even now as I try to remember it I
can't recall what it looks like inside; my memory goes blank
from the time we get inside to the time we leave, therefore
its not really worth going to. I wore this super cute dress
that I got that day from Forever 21; its my new fav and am
so glad I got it instead of the other one that so many girls
are wearing these days b/c I saw it on like every other girl
that night. On Friday night we hit up The Bank (formerly
known as Light and my absolute favorite club in Vegas),
Pure, and Tao. The Tao promoter got us in for free and no
wait line (sort of) and that night they had an open bar
until midnight for ladies, so of course we got our fill
there then headed to the other clubs. Tao has a pretty small
dance floor that's usually so packed you can't move, so its
not one that I like to attend, unless you get there early,
which we did that night so it was great. They also have the
coolest ladies bathrooms. They're located on the 2nd floor
overlooking the dance floor, have glass doors (which you can
see through), but once you lock the door the glass fogs up
so no one can see inside but the person inside can see out.
I was so freaked out while using it, worried that someone
could see inside that I could barely pee. He was also gonna
get us into the pool party but we didn’t want to go; such a
nice and cute guy. (Quick side note, Vegas has the cutest
bouncers, so nicely dressed in their suit and tie or
buttoned up shirt and blazer – hot). The Bank plays great
music and although it gets crowded you still have room to
dance. We met some guys from Berkeley there. I made out w/
one but I wasnt really feeling the kiss, and he said I was
just alright; ha like I care. He also said that his
girlfriend dances alot better than me, to which I responded
that I was glad he thought so. I didn't take what he said to
heart b/c I was having fun and I didnt even know the dude. @
first I was with him, but somehow Z and I switched guys and
I liked his friend alot more. He was nice, a math major who
likes programming, and he didn't even try to kiss me, we
just talked. We were supposed to go to a strip club w/ them
the following night (the guy I kissed kept calling/texting Z
but she ignored him). Saturday night wasn't that great; 1st
- it rained while on our way to the 1st club, 2nd -
everybody and they momma were out so the lines were super
long. First was Prive; some guy was 90210 was celebrating
his bday there and the club gave out so many wrist bands for
free entrance that we waited in "line" (more like a mob of
people pushing their way to the front to be noticed by or
bribe the bouncers) for about 40 min before leaving to come
back. Then when we came back and got upstairs there was
another line; waited about 10 min to find out that we had to
pay, the damn wrist bands we no longer valid. Risque was
alright, we got there kinda early I guess b/c not many
people were there and the music wasn't that great. We tried
The Bank but once again there was a huge “line” and by the
time we got noticed by the bouncer the guest list (which I
was on) was closed. Also tried Pure but didn’t even attempt
to wait b/c that line could stretch for blocks. Also hit up
some other place that had an open bar, yups more free drinks ?

I love the Vegas; girls can get by so easily there. For once
I gambled – played the slot machines, I love Black Jack. Z
kept winning, not big but still she won $$, then lost most
of it back. I’m glad we went, that was about our last hurrah
until god knows when. I hope we remain friends. And now I’m
off to NYC, to stay in the house all day and night. B/c of
the way I was raised I have no desire to go out, and when I
do have the desire I can’t bring myself to actually get out.
Hopefully things will be different this time around.
Hopefully I’ll contact people and get out. I’ve already
contacted one guys (yes from Craigslist) about Swing. He’s a
beginner and the place he mentioned costs like $12 entrance,
according to the website; we’ll see how this works out.
Maybe there’s a club I can join that way I can dance and not
have to pay a fortune to have fun. I’m looking forward to
World Hoop Day in September (999), hopefully someone does
something in the city so that I can attend. I plan on
completing my LED hula hoop and learning tricks. Jen broke
the one I tried to make last summer; I’ve got a new design
this year but the battery might be a problem. I’ll make Mo
learn with me, she needs a skill for her pageant.

Well enough of this long entry, until next time.
