Sons and sunny dispositions

4/9/09– 11:01 am? Called Joshua at 6:30 this morning, left a
message wishing him a Happy Birthday and a great day in
general, I got out of bed checking for new soreness and
found none. It seemed skating with the weights may have
helped, may know more tonight, Ill be at the rink when they
open and I’ll have two sets of light weights with me.
I headed outside to rake the yard, I started at the Barber
shop and worked my way back up to the parking lot, I think I
may suggest that Paula allow what was raked up to become
mulch. I piled lots of dead branches that can be tied for
removal, also had to remove bushes that had been destroyed
by the winter.
I’d mentioned Joshua coming in July (for his Nephew’s
impending birth) to Nik and Cathy, Arelys (his girlfriend)
may accompany him for moral support, Nik and Cathy really
want to meet him; I don’t know if that will be appropriate
and they’re chomping at the bit. I’m about to shower and
head to the Y for a moment, primarily to take a walk, to see
Nik and Cathy; then I’ll return home to kick up the DJ
program for tonight.
Charles called to tell me that he has the cd’s, I began
laughing and asked him why I had to come for them, I
reminded him that he wanted me to do something for him;
suggesting his need to bring the cd’s to me. He told me that
he’ll be at the college tomorrow, I told him that I’d come
to see him at noon.
I caught a bus home from the Y yesterday, my bag was too
heavy, I was getting off the bus when Kathy was getting on;
I said hello and I’m sure she was wondering why I was on a
bus. I hadn’t ridden a bus in two decades, I had to ask
someone what the fare is.
Joe had called me a couple of times, while I was at the Y,
he’d accepted a package from UPS for me; my mail had also
been delivered to his box and he opened it by accident. I
didn’t stress the mail snafu, although understanding the
carrier is lax in his responsibilities, I don’t just open
envelopes I find in my box; I make sure the mail is
addressed to me. Joe opened Medicaid’s denial letter to me,
they say I make too much money, they also state that I
denied the only coverage I’d be eligible for; I’ll have to
inform Medicaid that I denied nothing, that I was asked to
choose what plan I’d like from the existing plans available.
I’ll handle the insurance first thing in the morning, I have
an appointment pending on the 22nd, coupled with the fact
that I’ve already received two bills for my ER visit; I’ll
have to take that up with Ellis’ accounting department. I’m
imagining x-rays and MRI’s are very expensive procedures,
they suggest accepting 50% of the bill as full payment, if
paid in the next 45 days; if 50%is acceptable, perhaps we’re
being grossly overcharged?
