I’ve discovered something yesterday as I sat with my mom
speaking to my little brother’s teacher in parent-teacher
interview. My little brother seems to act like he isn’t a
smart kid and is about to fail a course. A grade nine,
academic math course! I say that he’s acting because he
seems how lazy his bother and I are towards school and he
doesn’t see any motivation at home. I partially blame
myself for this. I should be a role model for my little
brother and I’m not. I told my little brother that he can
ask me for help if he needed it and his response to that was
‘…but you’re stupid!’

That’s ok. I know he doesn’t mean it. I just hope he isn’t
one of those snobby kids who judge people based solemnly on
their marks in school.

LOL.

Marks in school. What can marks in school tell you? That
someone isn’t intelligent and is not capable of helping or a
creditable source for knowledge? Or that they are smart and
can tell you anything?

My little brother is different than my big brother and I.
He’s more intelligent and more motivated to learn. Of course
he is! He has two older English speaking siblings and two
parents who know a thing or two about a thing or two. He
has two siblings who are in university; he has no excuse for
failing.

Well, he’s only 14 years old, my family and I have another 8
years of encouraging my brother to do well in school and it
starts from my brother and I - the examples.
