Are Y'all Nuts?!

I just finished looking around cosplay.com's Otakon page and
some guy was like he hadn't realized that there was a
cut-off date for pre-registration. What the hell?! Did he
just fall of a turnip truck?! Okay, okay... Maybe he's a
newbie, but getting back to the topic. Then he said he
wasn't sure if he was going to go to Otakon because there
are only about (I think) 7,698 at the door badges available.
So he didn't know if he should risk coming from Ohio just
to find out there were no badges to be had.

Oh, planning people! It's all about planning! You can't
just fall out of bed one day and decided, "Oh I guess I'll
go to Otakon." No, it doesn't work like that.

In the early months of Pre-pre-pre-Otakon all the best hotel
sells out like hotcakes. In fact, there's not nary a room
to be found by the inner harbor during that weekend. Every
last hotel (at least the ones blocked off by Otakon) is sold
out and has been since I think early April. Then there's
the 25,000 people attendance cap.

Pre-registration had been extended twice! It was originally
was supposed to close on the 4th, but was extended to the
7th. Then it was supposed to close on 21st, but was
extended again until the 24th. So you're telling me in that
time you didn't know pre-reg was going to stop? What the
hell?! How long did you think they were going to continue
to push it back?! The con is in 10 days! Dude?!

Oh Otakon take months of preparation and PLANNING! Even
when J'aime and I first went to Otakon (and this was back in
the simple days) it took us at least two months to get reg
money together, book the hotel room, and find a way to get
down there and back. Now because we do panels it takes
months to do panel research and make costumes. I'm not even
going to get started on when I had to book the hotel room.
I booked that puppy back in March.

Planning people... You must plan for Otakon. Going into
that kind of mayhem with no plan... Ugh, I don't think it
can be done. Either that or I'm just the mega perfectionist
type who just always has to be prepared. In either case,
ugh... This boy is insane. And chances are he's going to
show up to the Metal Gear panel too... Well at least it
will be good for that.

Woo-hoo: Nanimonai

Barf: Y'all are trying to go to Otakon with no game plan.
Well good luck, you'll need it.
