Trouble Breathing
2006-07-25 22:13:33 (UTC)

Whew...take a break.

I've got a handful of minutes to think today, so I decided
to take some time to update my blog. Now let's see, what is
there to talk about?

Let's start with work. This week had been looking to shape
up pretty poorly, but things have worked out fairly nicely
thus far. Most everyone's features and columns are in, save
for the regular problem children and I've finally got the
info I needed to beging writing my piece. There's still
lots to do of course, but a little less worry.

We're in the process of trying a new approach to potty-
training Pepper. It's cage training. Let's just hope it
works. Of course, now my cat is becoming the
problem...sheesh.

I've still been in kind of that floating state I mentioned
before. There 1,001 different things that need to be done
around the house, at work, socially, etc., but I'm really
not doing anything. Kinda letting problems roll off my back
lately. The house is a mess and the yards are crap, but I
just don't really feel like doing anything about it, ya
know?

Speaking of the yards..hehe...I blew up the lawnmower last
weekend. The grass had grown about three feet high in just
a couple of weeks. Tried to mow it. Grass beats lawnmower.
Lawnmower retires. My parents are giving me their
lawnmower, so problem solved, I suppose.

Money is still REALLY tight, but we've managed to squeeze
through this month. Next month should be a little easier.

My Mets are having their ups and downs. But we're still in
first place and not in any danger of losing that position
for awhile, so I'm happy. The baseball trade deadline is
now about five days away, so the baseball world is ripe
with juicy rumors of who might go where. It's always fun--
and nail-biting as well (you don't want to lose good
players or get crappy ones).

Here's something out of the ordinary. Aside from having
virtually no sex drive lately, my body has felt pretty
good. Since my tailbone fiasco, I've been sleeping well,
feeling fairly well-rested, no backaches, no bodyaches, no
sickness or stomach woes. It's a nice little stretch of
feeling decent. I'll take it!

Hasn't been a lot of news on the ghost-hunting front. We
were supposed to go out and do an impromtu investigation
Saturday, but everyone was tired/busy, which is fine. I'm
not sure I was feeling entirely up to it myself. Besides,
if we're going to be serious about it, I want to get some
better equipment--and that takes money we don't have right
now.

I've been thinking a LOT about my parents lately and them
dying. It's the last thing I want to happen, but it's
almost like I can feel it coming soon. For their age,
they're still doing ok, it seems. But a lot of my
friends/coworkers are losing their family members now, and
I guess it's got me thinking. Hopefully, I just jinxed it
and they won't die for another 20 years!

I just realized I'm hungry. There might be an event I have
to go to at the Venetian tonight, but if I don't have to
go, then I think I'll gladly take another day and veg out
again! Just don't feel like doing much else.
