CFOh...

Wah, the stupid CFO and some other dude are coming to the
office for a visit today. Why are these people so bent on
visiting on my heaviest paperwork day?! You would think
they come for a visit on a say.... Wednesday, or a
Thursday... I'd even give you some play if you came
Tuesday, but Monday... Oh, I barely want to be in this
death trap let alone have to play the sweet happy worker.
Oh well, at least this is a short work week; I leave early
Thursday afternoon hopping a train for Virginia.

Oh speaking of AMA, Shortcake is 100% finished. The dress
was finished last weekend, the headdress was finished
Saturday... Which can I tell you how much of a pain in the
ass that was to get together. Who would have though
something as simple as a couple tiny strips of material
would turn out to be a huge fiasco. But I have to say it
came out really cute. I even made toppers for my knee-
highs. Those were a pain in the rump to make too. Putting
the red ribbon on the parasol wasn't easy, especially when
you have zany kittens trying to bat the parasol off the
ironing board.

Really when I think about Shortcake was a fiasco from start
to finish. I had to run out and get more red bias, the
right sleeve has a slight sewing error (not as bad as most
errors I usually have) and is a little tight around the
arm. Then all the other things I mentioned made that a
difficult outfit to make. Oh yes, and getting a petticoat.

Who would have thought getting something as simple as a
petticoat would be so difficult. They sell them on
Cosplay.com now. Which I have the ones they sell and just
a warning, they are mega short and would only be good for
short maid outfits. EGL hems are usually knee length or
longer depending on the style. They go higher because of
the underskirt (or petticoat) underneath. The ones they
sell on Cosplay.com are at least two to three inches above
the knee (15 inches). If you need something longer you'd
have to go where I went... Which if anyone is interested
I'll post the link later.

However, I had to go through the mill and back to get the
petticoat I got, which should be coming to the office
today. And pretty much I had to order it from a place that
sold clothes to transvestites, it's a long story don't
ask. But when I ordered it they had to order it from the
manufacturer, then ship it to me. Oh what a fiasco (fiasco
seems to be my middle name with this EGL dress). And
really I should breath a sigh of relief until it arrives to
the office. When I last checked the shipping they said it
was scheduled for delivery today, so it's basically sitting
in a UPS warehouse or truck waiting to be delivered.... Oh
my...

Well I guess things could be worse so I shouldn't
complain. I kinda wish I could enter it in a competition,
but original creations aren't allowed. Conventions should
really come up with a category for original EGL costumes,
but with Digital Dicks hocking Bodyline products in the
dealers room, its hard to tell who made their outfits or
brought them.

Oh before I go, I had gotten some wonderful news today
which brightened up an otherwise gloomy Monday morning. I
like it when I get good news first thing in the day.
