Subsistence Limited Addition...

As you may or may not know I will be re-re-revisiting my
most favorite of hyper-obsessions in Mid-March. March
14th is when MGS 3 Subsistence comes out and the screams
of joy are just crazy. I just paid reserved and paid, in
full (much like I did when the original MGS3 game came
out), for my copy of the Limited Addition version of
Subsistence.

Oh I can't wait to get my hands on the limited addition
version! I'm dying for that 3rd disk. I think it has
over 3 hours of cut-scenes from the game or something like
that. Plus judging from the Tokyo Game Show trailer it
seems like the movies are going to have extra parts, i.e.
Mama throwing Papa off the bridge and him seeing her face
as he falls to the river below. Oh I will make sure I
have three hours to kill to watch this entire thing.

But apart from that, I want to play more of those Snake
vs. Monkey games. Oh they use to be fun. Plus I want to
play Snake Eater on super butt easy mode. And since I
don't have a PS2 that has online capabilities I won't be
playing the online portion. Truthfully even if I did have
a PS2 like that I still wouldn't play online. I'm not
really about online gaming but I like the whole Metal Gear
thing. Besides, if Papa is supposed to be a "one-man
army", why the hell should you have a small troop with you?

Then you have the added madness of playing the original
Metal Gear game... Something I haven't done since I was
nine years old. But, wah... It's not going to have the
craziness of Ultra games (remember Ultra Games?) and their
bad translations of, "Uh-oh! The truck have started to
move!" And yes I do mean "the truck HAVE started to
move." But it will have the madness of me getting 10
rations and going though this deep water board for three
screens, eating the rations to get to where the oxygen
tank is. Oh yes, I had did that when I was a kid. It was
the only time I actually help my brother's game too.

Normally, I would just go around mindlessly when I played
Metal Gear. I would hide under the cardboard box with the
idea that if I walked around like that no one would see
me. Of course everyone saw me and I would always end up
dying badly. Or I would ruin my brother's high rank by
shooting the hostages you had to save. And I love
shooting the hostages too. If they wouldn't give me
information, I would shoot them and laugh manically as I
did it.

"There's a killer inside you. You don't have to deny it.
We were created to that way." -Liquid Snake

I love games that relive my childhood. Probably when I
start to play Metal Gear again I'll be transported back in
time to when I was 9 years old, sitting on the floor of my
brother's room playing video games all day. When I did
that while I was playing... What was I playing??? Oh
MegaMan Anniversary Addition... The memories of playing
that game hit me so hard that I swore I smelled Golden
Crusts pizza downstairs.

See, during that time we use to rent some of our video
games from Video Library on Germantown Ave. That's how we
discovered Metal Gear (later on my brother brought it) and
lots of other games. But on Friday nights Mom and Dad
would order pizza from Golden Crust and while we were
waiting for it to be done, we would rent movies and games
from Video Library, so when we came home we would eat the
pizza and my brother and I would disappear upstairs and
play games while my parents watched their movie. It's
actually a really nice childhood memory. Who'd a thought
that damn near 20 years later I'd still be one playing
video games and two still be playing Metal Gear?

Woo-hoo: Wai! Subsistence Limited Addition is completely
100% paid in full! All I have to do March 14th is pick
the shit up!
