Happy Holiday?

My mother tried to tell me today that New Year's Day
wasn't a holiday. I politely disagreed. Then I threw a
plate at her.

The fact of the matter is, New Year's is a rather
important holiday. It is New Year's that makes "Happy
Holidays" plural. After all, it would be rather boring to
go around wishing people "Happy Holiday".

In addition, New Year's spans the races. It's not like
Kwanzaa, where you have to be a distgruntled African-
American, or Chanukah, where it helps to be a pessimistic
Jew (Or, if you're not black or Jewish, you can celebrate
that holiday that falls right around December 25th. For
the sake of political correctness, I dare not mention the
name....)

Anyways, my point is this: New Year's is for everyone
(except the Chineese, but they get their own one later,
and theirs comes with fireworks!).

So, I urge all of you, including those who are
disgruntled, pessimistic, and politically incorrect to
have a lovely New Year's. Get together with family and
friends, watch the ball drop, and chime in the New Year in
style. Just watch out for the disturbing realization that
nothing is really going to change, except possibly your
blood alcohol content.

Happy Tomorrow Everybody!
