Mental Screamings

Good Night, Sweet Prince

I almost killed off my D&D party (again) last night. I made
them (4 Rog, 4 Clr, 3 Bar) fight 5 orcs. There is
absolutely no reason they should have had trouble with this
fight, but I guess between my bad rolls and their good
rolls, I killed off the cleric and almost killed off the
rogue (twice). While I am sure that neither they nor I mind
close calls in a good battle, this is 5 orcs we are talking
about. They should have mopped the floor with them. We’ll
see where the campaign goes from here.

Why do my opinions about things seem to be random and vary
wildly? Examples of opinions I’ve had today about various
issues (they shouldn’t be too hard to look up if you don’t
know what I’m talking about):
Stanley Tookie Williams execution: against
“War Against Christmas” in Schools: There is asshat-ery on
both sides. I say the secular things (Christmas tree, Santa
Claus, secular carols, heck even some more common
non-secular carols like Silent Night and Joy to the World)
are a-ok for school, but leave the nativity scene at home.
Painting of Male nude deemed upsetting: kinda hypocritical.
Rainbows instead of blood: acceptable.
Ok, on a second look, yea, they are my
swimming-in-the-pool-of-the-Democrats opinions. My bad.

Amanda asked Quade, Bob and I if we wanted to get a house
with her for next school year. I honestly don’t know what
to answer. I know I don’t have to answer right now, or even
for a few months yet, but usually some predominant opinion
forms pretty quickly, and I don’t have one yet. I’ve
thought many times about living off campus next year, but I
still have reservations. It would especially depend on
where the house would be located. Having no car, I would
require a house at least on the near side of the tracks. I
also am not 100% sure about the roommates. I mean, Amanda,
Bob, and Quade are good friends and I like them a lot, but
I’m just sorta hesitant. Bob and Quade are good roomies,
but I will have lived with Bob for two years and Quade for
one and finding a new group of guys does sound a little
tempting after two years in The Sauce. And I’m a little
scared that Amanda may end up being one of those “fun in
small doses” types of people. Of course, I may be
completely off base, and it could end up being the most
rocking house ever if we do it, but I think I’m going to sit
back reserve judgment until I see if any other offers come
in the next few months.

Now cracks a noble heart. Good night, sweet prince,
And flights of angels sing thee to thy rest!

G’night
