Big recap and my obsessive crush on my brother-in-law's band mate who is SO EFFING HOT!!!!

Monday December 5 2005
5:58PM EST

Today is our 8-year anniversary. Sweet. But we're married
now so we have to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Pooh.

Long time no catch-up. Brief synopsis:

- My new office sucks. It's hot and we have to keep the door
locked even when we're in there because mean old consumers
walk by and open the door. Plus there are no windows, I miss
my secretary friend, and I have to trek up the stairs to get
to the copy machine, fax machine, printer, and water cooler.

- I have a second interview for that job on Friday. Whee!

- Thanksgiving was ok. It was super stressful and we spent
more money than we should have on food. Like, $300 worth.
And that's money we just don't have. Jon was more stressed
than I was because he was doing more of the cooking. My
sister and brother came over (my brother arrived WAAAY
early!! Like 2 hours early!!), along with Jon's brothers,
Jenny, his parents, and the Israeli relatives and their 3
kids. People sat on the floor (thankfully our carpet is
plush) and played Connect 4. The dinner was pretty great,
and by dessert time I was ready for everyone to leave. Jon
gave Jeffrey his birthday present -- a Light Saber. After
they all left we watched Family Guy. My brother and sister
stayed over.

- Next morning we all got wrangled into going to breakfast
at Jon's parents house. That was a trip... Mary was
talkative and let the compliments flow freely, Jason was
just a freak, as always. They left around 1:30, Jon and I
went home briefly, then we went to the movies with Jeff, Dan
and Jenny... We saw Walk the Line. Great movie. I loved it.
We then immediately went to dinner for Jeff's birthday. By
this time I was totally in-lawed out. Jon's mom tried to get
us to come back after dinner to play Scrabble (?!?!?) and
then the next day she wanted us to go into the city and see
a Broadway show together. Jon and I gave her a firm no. No
way in hell.

- Saturday morning we all met for breakfast AGAIN to send
Jeffrey off to the airport. We met at a diner, it wasn't so
bad. Afterward we went home with Dan and Jenny. They hung
out with us for a while at home. We watched some Family Guy,
then I sat through Annie Hall. I hate that movie. Then they
left. Jon and I vegged out.

- Sunday we vegged for a bit, then Jon's friend Jay came
over. I hung out on the computer.

- The work week was boring. It was hard to work a full week
after having 5 days off.

- Friday night Jon's friend Doug came over, then Jamie,
Kelly and their friend Mary Beth. Jamie had this idea to set
up Mary Beth and Doug after meeting Doug at our reception.
Unfortunately Doug had to run home when they arrived to let
his sister into the house, so by the time he made it back we
were ready to eat. Sparks did not fly, but we had fun
anyway. Oh yeah, they brought the baby, too. Jon made
lasagna rolls with roasted asparagus. And cheesy garlic
bread. Yum. They all left around 10 or so, Doug stayed til
like, 11.

- Saturday we cleaned up a little, Jon napped on the couch,
and his friend Jeff from Albany came over to go with us into
the city to see Dan's band play. Jeff showed up around 4pm,
we left at 4:15 (he's always late!). Drove down, met Tim at
Red Bamboo for dinner. Jeff was really impressed!! I was
psyched he liked his vegetarian dinner. Awesome. Then we
drove to the club (Sin-e), parked, waited for them to let us
in, paid our cover, and talked with the band. I always
forget what a HUGE crush I have on the percussionist, Mike,
until I see him again. I gave him a very cheesy thumbs up
when I saw him and he held out his arms and said "bring it
in" to give me a hug. Hahhaah... so effing CUTE. I wanna
bone him BAD.

- The show was good. It was mostly insiders for Dan's band
-- friends of Dan's, his producer, etc. No one who was just
a fan. The show was good, I oogled Mike ALL night and
decided that I wanted to LICK HIM ALL OVER. Yum. We hung out
a bit and caught the beginning of the next band, who I
thought would be boring club/techno music, but they were
actually really good! Miss Fairchild, they're from Rhode
Island the the lead guy sounds like Prince. Awesome.

- Stopped at A Salt and Battery for fried mars bars, Jeff
had some drama with trying nto figure out how to hang out
with a female friend lusts after. We wouldn't stay in the
city so we told him that he could hang out with her and take
the train home, but since the last train left at midnight,
he would only have an hour before he had to head to Grand
Central. He opted to go home with us. We stopped at H&H for
some bagels and came home, arriving just after midnight.

Jon stayed up with Jeff, I went to sleep. Jon woke me up by
rubbing my shoulders around 6am. I looked at the clock,
rolled over and said to him "it's 6am!" he's like "I can't
sleep!" I was like "well I can!" Bleh. I didn't sleep again
the whole night! I was SO TIRED. Perfect for breakfast with
Mike, right?

- We got some snow, but it wasn't bad. Jon, Jeff and I met
Jon's parents and the band at the diner for breakfast. Mike
sat at the other end of the table so I didn't even get to
oogle his beautiful morning goodness. Pooh. After breakfast
we came home and Jeff just HUNG AROUND and wouldn't leave.

- I napped for a bit and when I got up around 5 he was gone.
The band had gone up to Poughkeepsie to do a radio gig and
then Jon and I had plans to see them again in Pawling with
Jamie and Kelly, Jon's parents and every single one of their
friends. Jamie and Kelly had to cancel because their
babysitter canceled, oh well.

- Jon and I went to the cafe, sat with his parents. The
place was less than half filled with Jon's parents friends!!
Seriously! No one else came. The opening band was ok (Open
Book) and when Dan's band came on Jon went to get better
pictures and video up front, leaving me to drool at Mike by
myself all night. I couldn't tell if he could tell that I
was staring at him and fantasizing about his forearms or
not. You never know with guys on stage, because of the
lights and all.. but a few times I swear he was looking
right at me. Once, it seemed like he looked at me and held
my gaze, even though I kept looking away. I wanted to mouth
"you make me so hot" but I didn't. (omg).

- We came home, I had trouble sleeping because of my nap and
because Jon left the heat at 67. I was planning on going
into work late but I instead just called out. YAY!

- So today I went to the mall, grabbed a scarf for Jon and a
button down shirt for my interview on Friday. I wanted a
suit from H&M but didn't have the $100 for one. I got a box
set for my stepfather for Christmas, some wrapping paper and
a pine tree scented candle. Then I came home, ate a burrito
and finished up our holiday cards. This year I made them by
hand!! I ordered some small 2x3 pictures from our wedding so
I used a glue stick and put them in, and now all I have to
do is write the cards out and address envelopes. Nice. I
also did 2 loads of laundry.

- OH! I might be working as a guide on the about.com site. I
applied for the one topic I'm truly an expert on, and
they're putting me through the prep program now. If they
like my work after 2 weeks I'll be offered a contract. I'll
make $500 to start and then at least $500 every month as
long as I increase hits to the site. So, I started working
on it this weekend and just today I started some of the
other stuff that's due on Friday. Sweet. I'm figuring out
the publishing tools and I have a mentor and it's pretty nice.

- That's it for now! Phew!
