Trouble Breathing

Crazy, messed up weekend

This past week, I got a lot done at work, and very little
done around the house...but that's ok. This weekend,
though, was a mixture of complete laziness, progress,
illness and insanity.

Friday, Reg went out and shopped to piece together my
Halloween costume (Johnny Cash), and wound up spending $40
on half of what I needed. She hooked up with Kristen during
that task, which was good to see. I came home from work
shortly after they had come back to the house and we all
sat around and chatted for a bit before Reg and Kristen
went to eat. I did very little Friday night as my back
aches kept worsening throughout the night. I was not doing
too hot by the time I went to bed.

Saturday, I woke up fairly early and feeling pretty good.
Reg, however, was ill with flu-like symptoms. She stayed in
bed while I cleaned the house from top to bottom and did
some work in the yards. Around mid-afternoon, I finally
made Reg get up and come with me to do some light shopping
for supplies, food and the remainder of my costume (cheap
guitar and sunglasses, which was another $45). We ate some
food and I took a nap until it was time to get ready for
the party at Keenan and Lenore's.

When I woke up, Reg seemed like she was doing better, but
she had to help me get into my costume (which was no easy
task). I was sweating like a stuck pig and we couldn't get
the belt buckle to work right...By the time we were finally
on our way to the party, I was in a less than perfect mood
because of things not going right, but I cheered up a bit
once at the party. But we didn't stay long as Reg wasn't
feeling well. In fact, she became super-ill about two hours
into our time there and I wisked her back home without
really saying goodbye to anyone. In retrospect, though, I'm
kinda glad we left early.

Reg and I both noticed a slight tension in the air while we
were there, though we couldn't put our finger on what it
was. After we left though, apparently a bunch of shit
happened, including four of my closer friends having their
wallets/purses stolen.

I'm going to go off on a little tangent here and just note
that whoever did this is a fucking waste of breath and I
hope they get fucked over tenfold. I'm sick to death of
this shit happening (Anthony had prescription pills taken
from his house not too long ago as well), and it reaffirms
my feeling that people in general are just assholes. It's
part of the reason I don't go out as much anymore. I think
I'm just sick of meeting new people and having them all
turn out to be worthless sacks of shit. And if I find out
that the responsible party for any of the thefts is someone
we all know and have trusted in the past, then I'm going to
be even more livid. It's inexcusable...period. Good people
like Nathan, LeAnn, Anthony and Karen don't deserve this on
top of all the other shit they've had to deal with (car
accidents, medical woes, theft, etc.). Why can't people
just go to a party and be respectful...have fun, meet
people. Why do people in general have to be about personal
benefit and greed? Fuck...if you want to steal from
someone...if you have a need to be an asshole and make
people's lives miserable...then run for Congress and leave
us the fuck alone.

And in a way, I almost feel even worse for Keenan and
Lenore. It's their house, their party and this kind of shit
happens? What the hell did they ever do to deserve having
to feel like shit because bad things happened to their
friends at their house? I really want to know. They opened
their house to people...to come and have a good time...and
they get indirectly shit on for it. I sincerely hope
whoever did these dispicable acts is identified, because
I'm past the point of being nice...I'm past the point of
being pacifistic. I'm ready to start fighting back!

Ok, so anyway back to the rest of our weekend....um, where
was I? Oh yeah...so Reg kinda threw up on the way home and
then spent about an hour in front of the toilet once we got
home. Some (good) highlights from the party: Geoff came as
the Heavy Hitter (attorney Glen Lerner), which was awesome;
Kadima and her boyfriend (John?) showed up and it was
really good to see her, even if only for a bit; Reg and I
made amends with Mishie and had decent conversation; Nathan
in tights was outstanding; Karen had once of the best
costumes of the night with her naughty toy/cigarette girl;
Clint's costume had me in tears; and LeAnn made me yummy
drinks.

Sunday, we did absolutely nothing. Aside from making
dinner, I didn't leave the couch or bed all day. Neither
did Reg. I watched my Giants destroy Washington in football
and then some episodes of I Love the 80s and Cops before
finally calling it an early night.

Now I'm back at work, and with everyone gone today, there's
nothing much to do. But I have to wait until at least 3
p.m. to get headlines out today...teh suck.
