my stupid mouth

it's you and me and all of the people

this past weekend was definitely the best one since i've
been back at school. last weekend was fun, too, since i
was in washington with my fellow republicans, but i'm now
completely sick of most of those people and don't really
feel like spending any time with them...it's so bad that i
even skipped our weekly meeting last night. the trip was
fun, and it would've been more fun if about half the
people who went hadn't gone.

anyway. this weekend...taryn came unexpectedly on friday
night. we went to coldstone and hung out with sarah, who,
amazingly, did not go out on a friday night. i think if i
didn't see taryn once or twice a month i'd go nuts from
home-related withdrawals. and i say home-related and not
just home for good reason. i don't miss my house in
particular.

i pretty much cannot hold a thought right now. so
saturday nick came to visit. i'll admit that i was more
excited about that than anything else so far this year.
he got lost on the way here because he wouldn't use the
directions on emmanuel's website; he wanted to use
mapquest, and i explicitly told him that if he got lost i
wouldn't be able to help him because i had never used
those directions. so of course he got lost, and we
proceeded to have what was probably at least a half hour
phone conversation that mainly involved him yelling at me
because he didn't know where he was and me yelling back
because i couldn't figure it out either. anyway, he got
here, and it was a little bit awkward at first because we
hadn't seen each other in a couple months, but once we
started playing poker at casino night, it was allllll
in...i mean, good.

we played the game loaded questions with mike and
colleen. nick should've been at a huge disadvantage
because he doesn't know either of them, but he did pretty
well. colleen insisted on sleeping in mike and scott's
room, which ended up being a good thing even though we
argued about it at first. so nick slept in my bed (and
wore a pair of my sweatpants...which was interesting, to
say the least) and i slept in colleen's. but what
surprised me the most was that we stayed up talking till
almost 5 in the morning. and it was honestly just a
really, really good conversation. it was definitely the
best part of the weekend. i had to wake him up in the
morning, which was slightly awkward...we went to brunch
with everyone and then just watched football and played
poker with mike pretty much all day. nick stayed until
6:30, which was way longer than expected...and made me
extremely happy. and i was proud of myself for intiating
our first hug, which is pretty ridiculous because we've
been friends for a couple years. not that i really like
touching people anyway. it was nice. everything was
nice. i heart this weekend.
