Home invasion

Louisa just called again, she can’t get a truck, she’s
shooting for next week-end and asked if I’d be available;
of course I would! I’ll always be available for my friends,
one way or another, whether it’s to my advantage or not;
lately it hasn’t been, Louisa asked me to go to her Son’s
friend’s house and get her keys, she also asked if I’d go
to her place and disconnect all the electronics, she didn’t
want to suffer any more losses to her assets. I got the
computer, vcr’s, dvd player and xbox/ the cable boxes and
such. It took much longer for me to handle that than I
thought it would, We did a lot of talking today, she told
me that she’s found my twin, a light skinned guy that
drives the patients to and from dialysis. I don’t know that
the man looks like me, from her description, he’s certainly
like me in all the ways that counted to her; even down to
wearing a driving glove. She told me that being with this
man made her miss me all the more, she used more than the
usual terms of endearment today, she started talking about
foods that she can and can’t eat. She told me she wanted me
to know about her restrictions in case I decided to take
her out to dinner, I told her that should that happen she
could order for herself, she said that she may want me to
order for her; she was flirting with me! She was telling me
that should I invite her to dinner, she’d come with me,
she’d have to come here for that and I guess she’d be
spending the night with me! Sharing my body with her would
be a commitment I’m not prepared to make, it’s more than
just sex for me and I won’t ever take it lightly again, I
won’t be making love to any woman other than my wife and I
can’t see Louisa in that role; it would be too hard on both
of us. I won’t be the man she wants me to be and she’ll
never be the woman I want or need, I do have to say that I
sometimes find myself attracted to her anyway. We’re great
friends, or should I say that I’m a great friend to her,
where I’m concerned; giving to me isn’t what she does.
Since she’s not too giving right now, why would she change
over the course of time, I can’t see that she would and how
she is now is how she’ll be then; I could be wrong but I’ve
already made my choice and decision.
7/31/05 Louisa’s home is a mess, not just because it’s been
burglarized, she’s unorganized and both she and her Son
neglect to take care of their home. What is a man if he
chooses not to make the world a better place? I’ve always
stressed to my Son’s that everywhere they are should be a
better place because they’re there. I’m planning to go to
her home and do the things that should’ve been done by her,
I’ll open the windows, air the place out and put things in
their proper order; I’d hate for people to come to her home
and see how she’s living. I’m ashamed for her, since she
isn’t ashamed herself, another reason a life between us
would never work. If you can’t take care of your own world,
how do you justify impacting the world of others, this is
what she does as a Social Worker.
We talked about the culprits, our suspicions, I gave her
things to consider; I thought Lenny’s friend (J) was
involved. My suspicions gave rise to Louisa’s recent
observations, when the police came to investigate, J had
been in the house with them and excused himself before the
police arrived; the action registered in Louisa’s
consciousness and she didn’t give credence to it. I’ve been
many things in my life, a thief was one of them and some
things you just can’t erase from your consciousness, when
you want to catch a thief; you use a thief! I noted J’s
body language when I arrived, he was on guard, trying to be
careful what he said to me; he knew I would be trying to
get to the bottom of the situation and didn’t want to be
suspect. (1)He left the windows open, yet told Louisa that
he couldn’t lock them, of course he couldn’t lock them if
they were left open; she didn’t know that! (2)I climbed
onto the windowsill and pulled both windows down, he told
me that he left them open because of the heat, I locked the
windows and told him to make sure they were closed before
he left the house again. (3) He had company in the house
and didn’t have authorization to do so, Louisa asked (while
I was putting the screws in the window) if there was anyone
there with J and I told her yes, she asked me to give him
the phone and (apparently) didn’t address that issue with
him; she asked who was there though. (4) J didn’t tell me
about the window (at the top of the stairs) that the
intruders used to exit, I never checked it and the
intruders returned through that same window. RJ saw my car
at the apartment yesterday and rang the doorbell, he told
me that he thought I knew about the window at the top of
the stairs, yet they watched what I was doing and saw that
I didn’t pass to that hallway at all.
If Lenny’s friends have concluded that his Mother isn’t
thinking about returning to Albany, planning to take them
off would be timely. Louisa couldn’t understand how or why
her Son’s friends would take her off when she’d been good
to them, I told her that theft is (for the most part) a
crime of opportunity, unless the thief is a professional
and a pro doesn’t waste time on a residence; too many
variables and not enough certainty of profit. I told her
that she provided the groundwork for the recent invasion of
her home, first by leaving her Son unattended for so long,
for not insuring that he was the only one with access to
her home; she could’ve made keys available for me and I
could’ve appeared (unannounced) at regular intervals. My
intermittent appearances would’ve given everyone in her
Son’s sphere cause to think twice about disrespecting Her
space, they’d never know when I’d be there or when I’d show
up.
Louisa was here with her Son last Thursday, there was a
crowd of people outside her house, they commenced to
creating a disturbance; yelling and such. This disturbance
escalated to the crowd breaking her windows and entering
the hallway and banging on her front door, I’m wondering
what her Son’s response was to this? Did he recognize any
of the participants, did he fear for his or his Mother’s
safety? Louisa chose not to stay at the apartment and spent
a better part of the night looking for a hotel, they
returned to the apartment the following day, grabbed a few
things and headed back to Brooklyn. Lenny wants to
appear “down”, yet these people come to your house and you
cower behind your Mother, none of this would’ve occurred;
but for Lenny.
Louisa noted that adults were part of the crowd, why didn’t
she call the police and tell them that her home was under
siege, perhaps her fear immobilized her and her Son wasn’t
the man he wants to pretend to be.
