Summer!

I've finished knitting the little hats and booties I want to
send to William Beaumont Army Medical Center. Now I need to
make the tags for each one and put them into small plastic
bags to get them ready to go in tomorrow's mail.

I ordered the white roses and white carnations to be put on
Steven's gravesite as I do for every Memorial Day. The
florist assured me they would be there on the Saturday
before Memorial Day, as always, and they would send me a
photograph, as always.

And on Memorial Day I'll pray for Steven. A few days later
I'll receive a photograph of flowers and a flag next to his
headstone and I'll add that photo to those I have. And I'll
remember.

They shall not grow old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

Last winter we had spring-like weather followed by weeks of
rain and cold wind. It was as if spring and winter had
exchanged places. Finally, now it seems that summer has
arrived and I, for one, am ready!
