Red Sox 1 2 .333 1.0

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA GOTTA LOVE IT!

Yeah, I know it's been 3 games...but at the moment, let me
rejoice that my boys in blue at tied for first. LOL. It
could be a long time until we see that again, once the
season really gets rolling. Of course, they should have
swept the Devil Rays. Bite me. I think we had a moment of
shoddy fielding yesterday that really didn't help...

Oh...and by the way...the Jays left Florida and played a
couple of games away after the end of spring training and
their Opening Day. At least one was in a Triple A ballpark
in Louisville (KY). I have to say that I think that was a
very sage move. Playing spring training in FL and then
opening down there...wouldn't get my competitive juices
flowing, either. It would seem like more of the same, esp.
given the Devil Rays' less than stellar reputation...
(well, I assume that's the reputation...what do I know?
Except that last night they had an even smaller crowd,
something like 8 746 or the last 3 digits in some
combination thereof...) ... and the broadcasters were
commenting on what a great idea it was. I sort of that,
yeah, but makes common sense to me...but again...who the
hell am I? Maybe it worked...they started off alright.

I'm going to the home opener on Friday. I was really
looking forward to it. Now I'm getting nervous. [-sad
sigh-]

I have to go.

I need to learn how to keep a scorecard btw now and then
b/c I really suck at it.

And I can't remember stupid things, like when a pitcher is
no longer the pitcher of record, etc., etc., etc. I say
stupid things b/c if I were watching I'd just know it
instinctively...but if you ask me, it's like...baseball?
Huh?

[-little frustrated laugh-]

I gotta go. I'm sad. I don't like today. But my Blue
Jays are on top of the standings! Go Jays Go!

Last night, my boyfriend and I had a short (and I do mean
short) discussion about the DBacks v. Cubs. Cubs won the
Opening Day match up - away to AZ - something like 16 - 6.
What a terrible way to start a season at home! Don't know
what happened with the next game. Then last night I think
AZ was up like 7-0 or something...I could be completely
erroneous...he was half asleep as we was telling me and
listening to the radio. I said, well, that's good at
least. He answers: No it's not, we like the Cubs.

We do? WE do? Oh. But...

And I almost burst out laughing. I wondered what YWSBN was
thinking about that...I mean, the DBacks are his boys now,
but then, the Cubs are his old-time team. I was about in
fits. I don't know why I thought it so funny. I really
don't care about the Cubs. I don't know why. I've tried.
I just can't get into them. (Don't panic, I HATE
the "other" team in Chicago...) It's weird. I love
Chicago as an idea and as a city. But the Cubs...just... I
am clearly missing something...b/c I want to like them!

But I like Arizona more. So deal with it, everyone. LOL.
So, I wasn't conflicted last night. In conflict with my
bf, who has adopted the Cubs for some reason, a couple of
years ago...and while I know YWSBN isn't in conflict, per
se... it had me in fits anyway.

I have to go and get some work done.

I just want to go home. Blah shit grey day out. I love
these days when I can be at home or in school. Not at work
though. Though better a bad weather day if you are forced
indoors instead of a nice weather day.

There really is nothing like baseball in the changing of
the seasons. Yeah...summerball is fantastic...but there's
something about the crisp air that bookends the season (at
least in climates like ours up here) that just really makes
it sing and be a thing of beauty. Truly...what is it they
say? I'll need help on the exact wording but...Baseball
starts with hope in the spring and ends in the bitter
disappointment of autumn? OH god I butchered that
terribly... shit...LOL... well whatever. Perhaps I'll get
it right next time. That's a lot like my take on the pen
is mightier than the sword... "A poet's pen is more fierce
than a knight's sword...."

God I'm a dolt... LOL...

I found this one that I like...b/c it's true...for so many
things, sports and otherwise...

"You spend a good deal of your life gripping a baseball,
and it turns out it was the other way around all the time."
--Jim Bouton

Time to work. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA I hate my fucking job.

And I'm really fucking sad...trying, maybe you can tell, to
get over it but...I'm really fucking sad...

I hope that door is still open...and that the light is
still on...I pray (I never pray) that it stands that it
always will be open and always lit up...b/c without that...
there is no way I will get through this...without that
knowledge...[-sigh-] It keeps me going...more than I
thought it ever could...
