So I am failing my Circuits class. Well, technically, not
FAILING per se, but I'm getting a D- on homework (like 75%
of the grade) and a B on tests (the rest of the grade) so I
went into my prof's office and went "Professor of mine, I've
noticed that my grade is not really satisfactory. Is there
possibly anything I might be able to do to bring it up so
that I can pass the class???" and he said "Why yes, Sam.
You can do a circuits project." and I said "Well,
considering I am failing the class, I know absolutely
nothing about circuits. What sort of projects could a humble
failing physics student such as myself build?" and he
started talking about the sorts of projects that I could do.
He listed off projects like calculators, speakers, and
other projects that seemed somewhat interesting. And then
he hit the grand daddy of interesting projects. He
suggested building a circuit with two force sensors on it
that we could stick in a bowling ball and then it would
measure the forces on the bowling ball as it rolled down the
lane and we could take the data after it was done and
extrapolate things such as the path of the ball, how may
pins the ball hit (I dont think that means how many pins
were knocked over, just how many pins the ball itself
collided into), and other fun stuff like that. I think this
means that towards the end of the semester, me, Len,
P-Armidillo, Adam, and Vic should go bowling.....

Went to a Magic draft on Friday night (more geekyness...).
Found it wierd that, considering I'm a primarily green and
white player, I did not draft one green card and only one
white card. Had 3 matches, each match being the best 2 out
of 3 games. Went 2-1, 0-2, 2-0. Thats pretty decent. My
deck was rather slow but once it got going, it crushed its
opponent. The problem was with the 0-2 guy where he killed
me before I got going. But considering it was my second
draft, I think coming out over the .500 mark was good.
Maybe I'll do it again later in the semester.

I'm happy. I (once again) had a class conflict between the
next physics class and the next computer science class, but
I worked this one out. It made me so happy. I may yet get
out of here without becoming a super senior.

My roommate gave me permission to play World of Warcraft on
his account. One of his friends had played a female Night
Elf Hunter on his account before she got her own account so
I just took over that character. Its the kind of character
I played in beta so I'm really comfortable with it and it
wasnt leveled up a lot so I still could choose many of the
main combat and skill traits of the character. I boosted it
4 levels to level 11 yesterday. Also took up Enchating
(that is a really really expensive career...) and tailoring
(why does it take 10 tailoring levels to add red dye to a
robe???). I pulled my first World of Warcraft all nighter
last night. I started at like midnight and spent the night
watching Star Trek movies and playing World of Warcraft. It
was fun. I am such a geek.

Happy Easter.

G'day
