Tolkien and depression

After rereading The Lord of the Rings for like the 100th
time. I ran across a phrase that descibes depression I
feel sometimes(not today thank God). Or maybe the

We cannot get out.
We cannot get out.
The pool is up at the West Gate,
The Watcher in the Water took Oin.
We cannot get out.
Drums, drums in the deep.
The end comes.
They are coming.
We cannot get out.

It's weird, but I can relate in a totally different way
then J.R.R. intended. It's strange that it only struck
this morning after reading it som many times.
