Diary of a Deranged Fangirl

Phew...

Oh my God, I've had a long day today. This morning I woke
up at about 9:30 and finally figured out why I'd been
lollygagging with my costumes for Katsucon, and it's
because I don't really want to wear either of them.

The concept of a nurse lolita dress is cute, but I really
don't wanna wear something like that right now. And the
same thing with the Pal-pu costume. It's a nice idea, but
not as a primary Saturday cosplay costume.

So I finally figured out what I want to do. I want to
make an all black lolita dress, with white lace trim and
black ribbon. And I want to make that girl from Rozen
Maiden's dress. The one with the red and green eyes. So
this morning I dash out the house and blew what little
money I have on fabric, and I still haven't gotten the
fabric for the Rozen Maiden dress yet.

Has anyone noticed that the price of fabric has gotten to
be kinda high lately? I mean when I first started
cosplaying back in 1998, bridal satin was $1.99 a yard at
Gaffney’s, now its $3.99! And the fabric district is no
better. $6.95 was the cheapest I saw for the emerald
green I'll need to make this dress. And I need at least 8
yards of it to successfully pull it off.

Oh and it's not like I didn't shop around either. I went
to five different fabric stores today. FIVE! And damn
near $7 dollars was all I came up with! I have one more
fabric store the check, and if I can't find something
reasonable there, then God only knows what I'll do.

*Sigh...*

Well needless to say I'll be sewing my ass off this
weekend. I'm going to try and get the lolita dress done
tomorrow. In fact I'm tempted to go downstairs and start
cutting out pattern pieces right now, but I'm bordering on
insane from being out so long today, it's probably not a
good idea.

Also today, I was in the mood to splurge. I replaced my
copy of Lament of Innocence, since I'd let Scott borrow it
and he never returned it (that and my copy of Dead to
Rights, damn and I loved that game too). And I also
brought La Pucelle Tactics. My first and only PS2 RPG.
I'm not really into RPG's but it was done by the people
who did Rhapsody, so I figured I'd give it a try, since I
liked that game so much. Plus it was $17.99, so the price
was very right.

I haven't played La Pucelle yet, but it's on the to play
list and it's not like it's going anywhere. I own it so I
can play it anytime.

Oh did you guys know there's going to be a new Castlevania
coming out in the fall? I'd like to die when I saw that
at Suncoast tonight. And I thought this was going to be a
crummy year for me and video games... I guess not.

Woo-hoo: It will be a rough, but I am determined to make
these costumes and pray that they come out good.

Barf: Man am I exhausted... It's been a really long day.
