i'm learning

i'm learning that life is one big compromise. it seems that
those that are selfish and unwilling ultimately get what
they think they want, but end up having no-one to share it
with. so you have to give a little in order to get a
little, and is it really THAT bad? does it destroy your
life plans to cook dinner for HER once in a while? to leave
work thirty minutes early to pick up your daughter from
school? it seems that to some people, inconvenience spells
the end of the world. but what those people don't realize
is that an action that, in the long run, really doesn't
affect them as they think it can, has astounding effects
when it comes to creating and preserving harmony. the
thought sometimes too is that agreeing to compromise is
like giving up a little bit of one's self, which some are
unwilling to see as a good thing. it's difficult to
convince these people that this bit of themself will
eventually get handed back to them, shined and polished.
