Two dreams, of a garden and a tree

The garden dream came not last night but the night before.
It involved Carolyn G., a colleague who was leading a
community garden project and had us moving boards in some
way. On awakening, I realized this pointed towards a
meeting that I need to arrange and that she had suggested
happen, but that I haven't yet gotten to. The fact of the
dream will be a good thing: a humorous rationale that
hopefully will take the edge off my direlection of duty.

Last night took me to a house that I lived in between 1968
and 1974, when the kids were small. I looked out the front
window that had a large locust tree with forked trunks
between it and the street. A man who seemed friendly
though a stranger was looking at me and I seemed to beckon
him coming closer which he did but I couldn't see him for
the tree. I somehow knew he would show his face in the
crotch between the two trunks, but this took awhile. And
then I realized that a hole was opening in the larger of
the two trunks, the one nearest me and that one of my
daughters was emerging from it, from a tunnel that we had
dug in that trunk that allowed the kids to come down this
surreptitious avenue from the upper story. I had made a
room from an attic on the third floor for my oldest
daughter and had coached the girls on how to descend on a
rope ladder should there be fire.
