Returning To Fahrenheit

Last night J'aime, Moe-chan, and her fiancée Mike, and I
went to Best Buy, so we poke around in there for awhile,
and as we were leaving I saw that they had Fahrenheit 9/11
on sale for $15. After some deliberation, Moe-chan
convinced me to get it, so I did.

So once we got back to Moe-chan's place, we watched it.
True were all kinda biting on the couch at certain points
or at other points cracking jokes. Like me with the
whole, "This is Tappahannock not Rappahannock", believe me
its funnier when I say it, but it was still made you just
want to go out and punch a couple of Republican assholes
now as it did when I saw it in the movies over the summer.

In fact, it was more incensing this time around, because I
just finished watching the extras that was on there. And
one of them was showing how the people of Iraq were just
living their daily lives and then, WHAM! Someone comes in
dropping bombs and missiles in your front yard.

I know the assholes who never saw this movie, who only
assume they know what it's about based on a few 15 to 30
second commercials would say, "Oh, Michael Moore is making
it seem like they were better off with Saddam and making
Saddam seem like a saint."

While it's very true Saddam was a murderous bastard and
the last person that I would run up and give a hug to; is
there anyone here who can honestly tell me that the people
of Iraq are any better off then they were with that
asshole Saddam? At least he could keep all the wack jobs
out, we, not only let them in, but also give them even
more fodder to hate us.

*But they're free! *

*Yeah, yeah, yeah my ass they're free. *

Can anyone tell me just what the hell they're free from?
I'm sorry, but if my family members are dying everyday and
my life is constantly in jeopardy from bombs, gunfire, or
scary militants what the hell has freedom and liberty
honestly done for me? Does the term jack-shit mean
anything?

"Freedom" and "liberty" those are just words. In fact
they are empty meaningless words. If freedom means I have
to constantly worry about dying no matter where I am, be
it in my home, in my neighborhood, or just to walk to the
corner store, then I'd happily take bondage any day.

Then the other thing that was on the extras that I really
liked was something about how Arab Americans are being
targeted for hate crimes and racial profiling.

See, being black, I know all too well the perils of hate
crimes and racial profiling.

Last Wednesday, after my heated diary tirade about that
asshole Cheney, I got into this really, really, really,
heated political debate with some asshole who actually
supports Bush (Fuck yo' Bush!). But he was trying to
justify racial profiling and anti-Muslim sentiments.

While I do not agree with many of the things that's in the
Koran, but at the same token, I don't agree with stuff in
the Bible either. In fact, I am against all organized
religion. And while I wholeheartedly believe in God (or
as I mostly call him Kami-Sama), I do not believe in
religion.

However, if being Muslim is what you believe then, hey,
I'm happy for you. Catholic, fine. Shintoist, great! A
Snake Handler (which I haven't seen them going around in
awhile; hey I miss you guys, come back!) well, hell, I
think that's cool too! But it's what you choose to
believe in, it doesn't make what you choose to believe in
right or wrong, it’s just what you believe. It's when you
spin that belief into hatred of any kind, that's when you
have the problems.

Personally, I don't think Kami-Sama would want people
running around using him as an excuse to destroy his
creation. And I really don't think he would want anyone
going around killing anyone else. Especially for the
reasons that have been tossed around.

But institutionalized racism, in fact, racism of any kind
needs to just be stopped. There is no reason in this day
and age anyone needs to be hating any one else on the
basis of color, religion, or any of that other crap.

Honestly, how can we go in and tell anyone else how to
live when there are still places around here I can't go
because of the color of my skin? How can we tell someone
how to act when we act like greedy monsters ourselves?

I don't know??? I didn't mean to get into all this today,
but I guess it really needed to be said by someone.

In any case, if you have an open mind, go buy Farehenite
9/11, the extras on there are really good. It really
makes you look deep inside. But if you're one of those
Bush people, continue to believe their rhetoric. Hey,
that's what this country is all about, having the freedom
to believe anything you wanna. No matter how one-sided,
negative, greedy, or moronic it may be.

Woo-hoo: I have my copy of Farehenite 9/11. That's some
good stuff there!

Barf: You know how I feel about Bush and them, so...
