Life, Or Something Like It

Love of Debate

It's 1002, Saturday. 1156am. It's cloudy and grey out.
What's more is that its sprinkling a bit, ... and it has
been for some time. Although, I don't think I noticed it
till I was out in the kitchen. For some reason, I love
hearing or watching water fall from the sky. Maybe because
it makes me feel good to be inside.

I woke up at 9am, and I felt pretty refreshed. I'm going
to start my project soon, so I'm going to make this a
short entry. I was watching the debate between Bush and
Kerry on CSPAN's website just now. I missed like ... the
first hour and fifteen minutes of the debate. Or
virtually, all of the debate. So I thought I would watch
it in its entirety just to see how each other faired. I
have a love for debates, ... not the ones you have with
friends where there is no moderation or rules of
engagement in place. Total unrestricted debating like
that, is more akin to like a form of negotiating and
charisma than it is about logic or rhetoric. Not to say I
can't appreciate the skill involved in turning the mind of
someone through the use of empathy and emotion. But I find
myself more attracted to the more academic aspects of
debating. Like, Lincoln Douglass debates ... which the
current Presidential candidates Kerry and Bush were
engaged in on Thursday.

I think those sort of debates are a bit more interesting
to me because it requires keeping track of your opponent's
words and using a host of techniques to either trap,
dismantle, or divert your opponent's objectives. It's ...
like the academic's version of hunting, you could say.

On an unrelated note, I think I'm addicted to cereal.
Considering my long standing history prior to a month ago
about how I never enjoyed breakfast ... I think I'm
actually addicted to breakfast, and more specifically ...
cereal.

I wonder if in some part this is because Elle loves cereal
and loves breakfast. I guess it might be a but suspicious,
but I can assure myself that my addiction to cereal has
nothing to do with Elle's eating habits. More so, it has
to do with the change of my previous nutrtional plans to
include smaller and more frequent meals during the day.

At the moment, the cereal I eat is called Kashi. It's some
kind of healthy cereal thing. I currently measure my
cereal portion as well as how much milk I add to my
cereal. Elle finds this kinda insane. But, I don't really
mind since I feel some sense of order when I do this.
I currently have 1 cup of cereal with a half cup of milk.
It seems to work well enough.

Speaking of Elle, she logged on a bit ago and we were
talking a bit. She had to leave though because she had to
go shopping. ... I have such an attatchment to her, I
can't believe I mentioned something insignificant like
that.

I think it's a sign I need to get back and do my project.
So I'll end this here.
