Life, Or Something Like It

Bulk Or Cut?

It's 0929, Wednesday. 1056am. No perceptible change in weather.

I should probably be studying for my quiz, but writing
during my two hour gap is now something of a ritual for me.

My nutrtion is going well. Although, I have a slight
problem. My caloric intake isn't that high. Actually, it's
pretty low. I averaged it out across the last 2 weeks, which
is the first time I started recording my caloric intake, and
I've noticed that I take in about 1000 calories a day. I
should be taking 1400 - 1800 calories a day.

This is probably why I've noticed a sort of atrophy with my
muscle that I've built up. I still have some of my form,
butit's not as pronounced as it was like two weeks ago. I
amattributing this to two possiblities. First, I've
definitely lost fat, and fat tends to make someone look
bulkier. That is, they tend to make someone look a bit
buffer. Secondly, my caloric intake and my atrophy seems to
indicate that my body is stripping protein from the muscle
fibers. Which ... is really bad.

Interestingly enough, when your body is starving it starts
stripping muscle first before it moves to fat cells. This
doesn't make any sense to me. I mean, wouldn't evolution
correct for this? I mean like, ... the body stores fat so
that it can use it later as fuel. So, why would the body
want to strip muscle when it already has a place where it
can go for fuel? Muscle should be the last thing to be
touched, because muscle is what's used to get fat into the
body. I can only assume that the reason the body strips
muscle first is because the protein in muscle fibers are
alot more easily to acquire than the fat in fat cells that
are stored via lipogenesis. Plus, I think the body needs to
transmit a chemical to the fat cells so that it will release
fat into the bloodstream to be used as fuel. I think this is
called HPL? I can't remember. So, it's probably just more
convenient to strip protein from muscle first, and then move
to fat cells. But It makes things most inconvenient for my
attempt at getting buff. Muscle gain is more of a secondary
goal, to the primary goal of increasing my metabolism.
Muscle gain now would serve to increase my metabolism, so I
guess it might be a bit advantageous to start building some
muscle. But, I prefer to do things in steps. It makes for a
cleaner transition. Once I gain a pretty high metabolism, I
can start building muscle alot more effectively. Not to
mention, the prepatory phase is designed to strip impurities
from my body. Impurities like fat. Well, I guess do need to
build some muscle then.

I worked out today, although I'm not sure if I did any good
if I'm not taking in enough calories. On the positive note,
I'm concluding that I will be finished with the prepatory
phase of my fitness plan in about ... 2 months. Perhaps
less, with the way things are going.

Afterwards, ... well I don't know. I have about two months
to think about what I want to do. I thinking about a certain
someone from a certain sorority suggested to me. Buff. If I
start bulking after the end of two months, I could start
cutting/ripping if I wanted.

Mm, maybe. I think I just might do that ... Well that's
enough pondering about that.
