relief

i quit my job today. i was supposed to work through til
Thursday, but i couldn't hold out that long. i was just
plain exhausted, and i feel so much better now that i'm
done with it. i can take the rest of the week to pack and
do some of the other stuff i haven't been able to do yet
because i've been at work all day. the more and more i
thought about all the things i had to get done before
friday, the more and more i realized that if i were to stay
at work, they would not get done, and it's not an option to
not get them done. take moving out, for example. i need to
be packed and out on friday. when i work, i come home at 5,
eat, and then pretty much want to go to bed. now i won't be
too exhausted to pack! yay! and i can do some photo stuff
before i leave! yay! and vote! and maybe cover some of the
election stuff for KBIA! but first and foremost, i'm going
to sleep in really, really, late to make up for having
gotten up at 7 the past three weeks.
---------
the trip home was lots of fun. my buddy Angie came with me,
and i got to see Megan and Colleen, and the lake, and
saturday we spent the whole day downtown. we went to this
modeling thing, which was cool because we got to meet all
these really sweet girls and parade around on a runway, and
the modeling agency that held it gave us lots of fresh
fruit during the whole thing and a goody bag when we left
with a bunch of cool stuff in it. we're not going to be
famous or anything, but it was great time. after that we
just wandered around and i took a bunch of photos that i'm
looking forward to developing. i need to buy new batteries
for my camera... and get my CD player installed in the Ford
Explorer so that i don't have to drive home without music.
my room is a mess right now. blah.
---------
i had my chat with Clint Conley and he really is the nicest
guy. i can't believe he would take time out of a schedule
as busy as his (being in the band Mission of Burma and
producing a TV show in Boston) to speak to me on the phone.
now i don't know how seriously i can take this offer, but
he told me that if i want an internship for his production
company in Boston, i shoud just drop him an email or give
him a call. that would be absolutely incredible, but i
figure the only time i can really fit it in would be over
winter break, cause with the trips to Vegas and Spain, my
summer next year is already pretty full. a two week stint
at a production company would be awesome. i'm not really
sure what that would entail, but if i've ever seen an
opportunity to get my foot in the door, this is it. Boston
in the winter is probably pretty cold, but i grew up in
Chicago, so i don't think it would be a problem. i only
wonder where i would stay for two weeks. hotels are awfully
expensive... anyway, i think i'm getting ahead of myself
here. i'll send him another email and try to figure out
whether or not that was a serious offer, and then go from
there. i have a feeling that this year is going to be
awesome.
