Mexico

So im back from Mexico. It seemed like a much longer time
then it was though. I missed you all so much. But it was
seriously the best experiance of my life.

So Saturday we took a plane to San Deigo, and we drove
over the border. When we got over the border, it was so
differnt, it had graffety EVERYWHERE (and this wasnt even
the worst town). All the buildings were really old and
like really crappy. After we got into Mexico a bit more,
it was 10 times worse. There was garbage everywhere, on
the sides of the roads, on every hill, it was just
EVERYWHERE. It was so discusting. And i did not see one
open surface that didnt have graffety on it. It was even
on the side walks. It was really bad. All of the houses
and buildings were REALLY old and gross looking,
everything was just out in the open , and people were
walking around like everywhere. And it was way worse in
person, i just like cant even desribe it.

So when we went to the job site it was this REALLY big
like housing thing you could say. Let me just tell you it
is DEFINETLY nothing you will ever see here ( i think it
was a land fill because we found LOTS of garbage mixed
into the dirt when we were digging. So yeah it is just a
big like "neighborhood" made of massive like dirt hills,
so there are like big holes everywhere, and down all the
hills is like this iky shit water things going all the way
down the hills. It is SO discusting, and smells 10 times
worse then it looks. So each house, it like really close
to eachother, and they are all really small, and are like
covered or all the openings or holes are covered with like
blankets or just like anything they can find, and the
houses are like made of this wood that looks really hun
sterdy. Idk how to describe it, but it was just really
sad, and this "neighborhood" goes for like miles, like if
you look from the top of the BIG hills all you can see is
the "neighborhood". There were dogs all over, and they all
had mang which makes the skin really raw, and they are
just like bleeding all over there bodies. And they are all
skinny and sick looking. I have never seen a dog ever look
like that, and i have seen many sick dogs in my time. It
was horrible. Everything there was just horrible besides
the pure happiness and love the families had, shared and
showed to everyone.

I was shocked at how truly happy they were. They had
nothing and knew it but were still just... content to put
it into a word. I mean it was just so amazing and, just
really moving. They have nothing, but everything at the
same time. It just goes to show, that love is happiness,
and love and happiness are all you need to survive.

So like you can drink the water there, and you can flush
your toilet paper, and like we had to take 1 minute
showers. It sucked. But i guess it could be worse. At the
place we stayed it was really nice (compared to everything
else there) and like we had real showers and real toilets.
At the work site they only had out houses (lets just say i
never went to the bathroom at the work site). So yeah, it
wasnt bad. And we like could only drink Water, Gatorade,
or Milk the whole time we were there, so i drank a LOT of
water, and we like brought clean water to the work sites
and everything.

We worked really hard the whole time. We dug a trench the
first two days, and it was 11 feet down. It was really
hard because the dirt there was like hard clay, NOTHING
like the dirt here. And on the third day we stayed at the
Pasada (the place we were staying) and we moved bricks
most of the day, and then at the end we mixed concret, and
to do that you have to like have 1 bag of cement mix, 6
full buckets of rocks, 4 full buckets of sand, and 1
bucket of water. So i shoveled rocks and sand half of the
time while we did that, and then the next half i passed
buckets of cement. It was actually kind of fun though, but
really hard after awhile of doing it. The fourth day we
went back and didnt do much but move bricks the whole
time. The on the last day (of working if you didnt catch
on) we did cement the whole time. The we said good bye to
the family. It was really sad. All of it was really hard
work, and we made it as far as we thought we would with
the time given.

Ok so we went to the boreder on Wednesday, it was so sad.
So the boreder goes all the way across mexico, and there
is this part of it next to this really busy road, and for
acouple of miles it is completly coverd with crosses that
are side by side for miles. It used to be that when you
tryed to cross the boreder you were killed, now you get a
few warnings and then you go to jail. So the families
wanted to show the government that there was a problem so
the put up the crosses and put the name of there fimily
member that died, how old they where and when. It was so
sad.We stoped like in the middle to get out and look, and
we stopping at this place where they had the guys clothes
spread out on the cross, it was SO sad. So after that we
went down it where the border went into the ocean and
right before it get to the beach the wall turns inot this
really thick fench (still really high) and the park is
like perfectly kept and petty, and big and just really
nice, and there you are on the other side where is is
crappy, and your caged in. It is really sad. And the worst
part about it is that the families, who have like husbands
go and meat there and have lunch with the dad on one side
and the family and the other, and touch and try to hug
between the fench and stuff for awhile, just so they can
see eachother. It is so sad. And there are people on the
beach sleeping, and waiting to try to swim across the
border and stuff, and it is just so sad. There are like
motion censors in the water on the border so if someone
does try to swim across they have like a bunch of
helacopters and police around them in like a heartbeat.

The worst part about the border, is it is us holding them
in. Because we are greedy! We are afraid they are going to
come and take all our jobs and money, and something like
that. Its not right, we have so much, and they have
nothing, and we keep them out because we are greedy, it
makes me sick. We can drive in and out of there country
with no problem, but they cant come into our country for
more then a few hours, and without a very good reason. Its
is discusting. It just not fair at all.

So on Friday night, we went to the orphanage(sp) and to
Rosarito shopping. The orphanage was really sad, they had
like big fences facing in so that no one could get out.
And on the outside of the building there were bars
everywhere, and it was just really sad. And this little
girl like made me play hop skotch with her the whole time.
And when we were leaving they were going in to eat dinner,
and they were eating corn flakes. It was really sad. I
felt so bad. And they all just wanted attention and stuff,
and we all left at different times so they wouldnt get
upset. It was just really sad. I felt so bad. After that
we went to Rosareto and went shopping. And like the second
we got out of the car a bunch of people selling stuff like
surounded us, and like Kari was looking at this braclet
thingy, and she didnt want it, and the girl wouldnt take
it back from her for like 3 minutes. Like Kari was like No
Gracious and the girl was like Cee(sp) and wouldnt take it
back. Finally she did but she was made. So after that we
went shopping, and it wasnt as bad at that, but it was
still crazy. I got two rings one that says Jesus and one
that is lucky, and the guy wanted me to get them for 20
together, and i got him down to 15 so that was kool. Then
i got one neckalace for 2.50 and another for 10. And when
i bought the necklace for 10 i went down to get my dad and
the people like laughed at me because i payed WAY to much
for it. I was pissed, i got hella riped off. lol. The when
we were going back to the vans this little girl was
begging for money so we only had like a dime so we gave it
to her, and then like a bunch of kids swarmed us wanting
some, and we walked away, and like they kept fallowing us,
and the little girl fallowed us like 5 blocks, and was
only like 4 or 5 and was so cute, and it was so sad. So i
was thirsty so i got water (and made sure it was sealed
ppl there like to act like it is bottled water) and i had
like 50 cents left and gave it to her and she finally
left. But it was really sad, and i felt so bad.

So Saturday, we woke up early and satin trafic to get
across the border for over an hour, and then it only took
us like 1 minute to get over it. It was dumb. lol. Then we
went to sea world. It was SO cool. We shaw the Killer
Whale, dolphin, and otter shows. They were all really
cool. On the whale one we shaw Shamu, and her baby. And
like poeple balanced on the whales noses while they jumped
out of the water, and like road on there noses and backs
while the swam under water and stuff, and just did a lot
of really cool tricks. And the dolphins like splashed each
section of the bleachers for like 2 minutes, it was funny.
And they did really cool and high jumps, and were just
really cool. And the Otters, umm they were just awesome.
lol. And we got to feed and pet the dolphins for like 10
minutes. It was SO awesome. Then we just walked around
shopping, and going on rides. It was really fun. I loved
it.

So yeah i got back last night at like 1 and stayed up
reading Kim and Becca's diarys till like 2:30, and got to
bed at like 3 and woke up this morning at like 12 and went
out to lunch with my dad. So yeah it was cool.

I loved the whole trip. It was sad, and hard, but so much
fun, and i learned so much. And i missed you all and i
love you all.

God really is out there, and i know it now.
