Singing in the Rain...er, BRAIN!

Just a quick one here...just got back from a really nice
dinner at Eva and Tim's house, in Denmark. We carpooled
with some folks that my parents have known for 30 some
years...and when they told me about their son...I was
floored. He has been diabetic all his life, and calculated
that he has taken over 36,000 shots. His kidneys are
failing, his liver is failing, and he goes in for dialysis
three times a week. I feel bad for ever whining about
ANYTHING.

On that note...I took my seventh shot today. It's still a
bit scary, but the whole process is getting smoother.
Tomorrow mom and I are going to hear this speaker who is
lecturing on "Music and the Brain". Seems very "a propos",
with my being a musician, and having a bum brain, right?
Anyway, this guy happens to be the Head of Neurology up
north, where they have just successfully completed the
first stem cell procedure. I would love to know what the
procedure entails, but nobody seems to know very much. It
has to be complicated, and ethically borderline, since
there is so much controversy in the US. At least I get to
meet this guy tomorrow. I don't know what to say, if
anything at all, since the focus isn't really on MS, or
treatments of MS. Either way, neurology is fascinating. I
am very excited about hearing him speak. Music and the
Brain...Maybe he'll sing songs about brains? No, probably
not.

It's raining again. And now, I am going to bed. Goodnight!
