Examine a Poet Someday Soon

Poetry
is sort of like
taking an idea
and expanding it.

The poet
must
get inside of the idea
(or ideas)
and start flailing their arms
and legs about.
And open it up

sort of like
a tent.

Then, they have to
pitch it up
(once again with the tent analogy)
with a stick or
rest it on a branch
or something.

Regardless, it must be propped
or else
the inflated idea
tends to fall down.

Once the idea is standing upright
everyone walks by
and some teenagers laugh
and some middle-aged people roll their eyes.

"Silly poets,
we all camp in our SUVs
now".
