Fortune

Why must you lay here and force these questions on me
These are demons that I meant to have slain
Yet you remain,
An unpleasant permanent reminder on my life
That will never let me forget
All of my hungers, strained until nothing is left,
Why could you just leave without a whisper of emotion,
Are you devoid from decency?
Can’t you see that your intensions kill me,
Like the soldiers of fate drifting on the dusk of day
Waiting to take me away to the clouds,
Where eternal peace waits for me,
Must I blame myself for the nature of your deceit
Or just let you take the rest of me,
I’m incomplete without you,
Without the savage power of love and life am I just,
A torn shadow of the figure I was before,
Then chalk me down as forsaken and keep walking
I hold my head up high,
Supported by the need of something new to believe in,
And the doors descend on the emergent light of my heart,
Can I feel the control and comfort,
Without you.
