Lunch

Guess my brother-in-law really just wanted . . . lunch. It
was pleasant, relaxing, and we really didn't talk much about
my sister at all. He said he didn't invite my parents to
lunch basically because he didn't feel like it would be
comfortable.

I feel bad for the guy. Personally, I think my sister is a
flake. But then again, she always has been. I had to keep
my opinion to myself when he said he still hopes she'll
change her mind over the next few months.

He also got to see my daughter. She was asleep, and wasn't
going to wake up for Jesus himself, but at least he got to
see her. For some reason, that was important to me.

He was pretty upbeat. I doubt in his situation I could have
put on as good a face. I guess even if it does end in
divorce, it's going to be amicable.

It sounds like we'll probably see him, at least one more
time. His stuff is staying at my parent's house so he'll
have to come back for it someday. Could be a couple years
though.

He also brought me a couple small things from Iraq. Very
thoughtful.
