Dream World II

Here is the continuation of that dream I had.

The heavy bag bounced uncomfortably against Skye's back
but she didn't slow down to adjust it. She had been
running for two days non stop and knew that soon her
family would notice her absence and then if they didn't
find her body would begin to look for her. She had to get
away she wouldn't go back to her prison. She was far away
from the village but she knew that the people sent to find
her would be excellent trackers and the best thing to
delete her tracks was time, so she ran as fast and as hard
as she could. As she ran into a clearing, suddenly her
side seized in pain and she could no longer breath, she
fell to her knees gasping desperately for breath. She
commanded herself to get up and keep moving but her body
would not obey as finally air reached her lungs. She
breathed heavy for a moment but she felt a presence near
her so she tried to quiet her breathing as she assessed
the
mysterious person’s location. She decided that he was in
the trees to her left, she slowly stood and took a knife
out of her belt even though she knew in her condition that
she had a slim chance of winning any fight, but she wasn't
going out without a fight. She lowered into a defensive
position and said, "It's not nice to spy, come out,"
making sure not to let on that she was weak.

Suddenly Skye could here rustling in the trees and new
that her opponent was moving and just as suddenly a boy
dropped down from the trees about 10 feet from her to her
left. She turned to him but didn't let her guard down,
she could tell that he was strong and if it came down to
fighting him she would most defiantly lose but she wasn't
going to let on that she knew any of this. "Who are you?"
she heard the young boy ask.

She swallowed the lump that was forming in her throat and
said, "What does it matter to you?" The boy smirked
slightly at Skye but said nothing. In her head Skye was
trying to decide what she should do next because there was
a very good chance that this boy was a hunter. Hunters
were extremely strong fighters and if a hunter found her
he
would probably ransom her back to her family, and if they
didn't pay he would kill her.

The boy looked over the mysterious girl in wonderment. It
was obvious to him that she was in pain and yet she didn't
show any weakness to her enemy, he could also see that she
knew that he was most likely a hunter. He recognized this
girl as the daughter of one of the notorious fighters and
knew that if he brought her back to them he would receive
a
nice sum of money but something about this girl made him
decide that he didn't want to return her to her family so
he said, "It doesn't really matter I guess, I was just
walking and saw you and wondered who you were?" He saw
the girl think over his answer but not lower her defense,
he could hardly keep from smirking as he thought he could
defiantly come to like this girl. "What are you doing out
here?" he asked.

Skye hesitated on answering, but for some reason she felt
that she could trust this stranger, "My name is Skye," she
said, and hesitated to continue but then said "and I left
my home to train and become stronger." She waited to see
what he would do and was surprised to see him smile
slightly.

"My name is Naro," the boy said, "and how do you expect to
get stronger in the middle of nowhere by yourself?" he
questioned. As this idea hit Skye she realized that she
didn't really have a plan past that of leaving home. She
was searching for something to say when she heard Naro
say, "well it looks like you are going to need some help,"
he said as he rolled his eyes and continued by saying, "I
guess I could help you, I have nothing else to do." He
stood looking at Skye waiting to see if she would accept
his offer of help.

Skye looked over the situation carefully in her mind and
could tell the situation wasn't ideal, but Naro was right,
she would need some help. Her common since was screaming
at her and telling her that this boy was an incredibly
powerful stranger who could kill her in her sleep but for
some reason something inside of her told her she could
trust him. So with only a slight amount of hesitation she
said, "Okay, what do we do first?"

They smiled at each other for a moment before the Naro
took Skye's hand and lead her out of the clearing, in the
opposite direction of her home and towards what looked
like a promising future.

Sorry but I have to stop now but there is more on the way,
times to laugh and times to cry, life isn't so simple and
this story doesn’t end here.
