Insane Blabbering

1) Was just thinking about how many people likes to be
different, to not conform to society, be unique and totally
outstanding. Like one of my friends now in Australia: her
dressing is eye-catching to say the least. Even a short
trip from her house to the nearby shophouses (when she was
back in Singapore), she had a frilly dress, plaids with
bright pink ribbons, face fully mascara-ed with eyeliners.
No offence to my friend, and she really does stands out in
the crowd, head turning even.
What i'm trying to say is (after so much pointless facts),
if everyone possess the same mentality, all of us would be
unorthodox, meaning all of us would become the SAME (yes
the SAME!! HOW TERRIBLE!!). Does this not puts us all back
to square one? a case example would be ear piercing and
tatooing. It's SOOOO common nowadays that we arent really
impressed unless they're done to extremity. However, from
my point of view, no one here seems to have noticed this
shift in thinking...

2) Which brings me to the next point, how being SIMPLE is
actually more unique. Less is more. When everyone is
keeping long hair(stupid F4), we just style our hair
according to what suits us best. If straight cut jeans is
the in-thing, keep those flared up ones. One fine day
people will just find it fashionable again.
What's most important is to be comfortable with the way we
are, though self improvement for the correct reasons are
still a must. Being self confident and being too laidback
with ourselves is separated by a very fine line.

3) If anyone here watches the Oscars, i'm wondering if ya
noticed the amount of statuetes they handed out. And then
there's the Screen Actor Guild Awards, the Golden Globe,
the ....etc.... If there are all so many prizes, it really
seems to me that the effort in commending the best is
defeated. Just like for every American Idol, there's a Fame.
For every Bachelor, there's a Joe Millionaire. For every
Fear Factor, there's a Worst Situation. ya get he point...

4) Even this online diary fad. I'm here cause my friend
told me about it, and she's here because her other friend
told HER about it, so on so forth. Nothing is this WORLD is
unique, Nothing is really outstanding, Nothing is really
ONE & ONLY. Herein lies the whole point of this passage.
Be what you are, go for what you want, but don't do it just
to be different. Monks ultimate aim is to be free of all
desires, though it can NEVER be attained, it's the process
of getting there that is most Important.
