“For Your Consideration.”

Rebel – with a cause
Refine the laws
And snap bodies like Jaws.
The original thriller
Atrocious lyrical killer
You wana know the deal wit her –
Me
A woman on opus proportions
I insight wars that exceed race, as I give chase to charges
of extortion.
Making me, America’s most wanted,
Confident but not arrogant – humble – but sometimes I
flaunt it.
Gather my soul, spirit and thoughts next to the sea,
Life, love, pain, strength and survival are what inspire me.
So lay to rest any interrogative views because I am layin’
it on the table,
I keep a stable
A stock-pile, entire collections,
Of rhymes that causes death and resurrections
I keep protection
Tucked in the small of my back
Not violent, but y’all some folks don’t know how to act.
And I will take there if I have to, don’t press my button,
All of a sudden,
I think people are starting to get the game confused,
Because I represent conscious points of view,
But be it not mistaken, I am not to be tested,
Well respected,
And if you think I’m lying, check my record.
Survival runs alongside blood in vein,
And poetry on the next level is the only set I claim.
I bang lyrics and dollas
Make grown men holla –
Leave lumps in ya’ throat – so thick – you can’t even
swallow.
Provocative nature so strong even with medicine you can not
digest,
I grab the mic but leave a scar on your chest.
Dark skinned, nappy hair, weighing 150 and standing 5 foot
3,
And the bombest honey gurl, video chic, still can’t even
stand next to me.
I reflect the light of the sun, I make love to the earth,
I am the reason Alicia Keys sings a woman’s worth.
Down with the struggle and I live and die for the cause,
I find the lost –
But don’t mistake me as soft
Cause I bring it so hard you might confuse me with an
erection,
I walk into the room and people start sweatin
And stressin
Wondering when, how, why and what I came to say
And I think it’s time for me to put it all on the straight -
away
Like yesterday
Yet I am the dream of tomorrow
If I stopped doing spoken word, the whole nation would be
stricken with sorrow!
Many have come, but in the beginning it was me,
Been flowin’ so long, I was writing rhymes with Adam & Eve.
I had lunch with Egyptian queens, my name is written in the
bible,
Jesus celebrated my arrival
And I been quiet – but it ain’t ‘cause I fear my rivals!
The truth is- I have none, there is no competition,
You want to battle? Grab the mic and start spittin,
Again and again, I will come out as number one,
4 years holdin’ first place – it’s already been done.
Nuff respect to all my queens doin’ ya thing,
But respect that my struggle is what gave birth to your
dreams!
A ghetto risen, political, intellectual, hood, street urban
anthem,
I swing my hips and music plays and men around the world
start dancin’.
So now, now, now you understand,
And there will be no more sequels … you already know who I
am.
