Victory at Takraw

THIS CUT N PASTE FROM TEMASEK HALL FORUM THAT I POSTED SAYS
ALMOST EVERYTHING...

I promise this will be a lengthy post

Feels really satisfying reading all the prior posts and
also all the MSN nicks. Looking forward to reading Erwin's
match report, watching highlights by VPU and hopefully if
entire footage is available

Many thanks to many pple...

1. I thank God for sustaining me thru the whole 12hrs.
Unknown to some, I've been training and playing with a back
injury for the past month. Thank Him also for helping me
maintain composure in the finals against RH cuz I'm usually
a kan-cheong spider in these circumstances.

2. I thank all the supporters. Without your cheers we
wouldn't have done it. Your shouts though not as loud as
bottles, were truly shouting from your hearts, with the TH
spirit and that made us hungry to win for all of u.

3. Shiqiang, who took up the position of coach in IHG 01/02
and had to be really patient in waiting 3 years for these
few of us who have been under him since IHG 01/02 to
blossom.

4. There were 4 ppl i told juz before the start of our
regu's match against RH's top regu in the final that I
would win it for them (quite cheat...haha. i told each of u
that I will win it juz for u but i told the same thing to 4
ppl..haha.) I told FOWLER and NENEH cuz they are final
years and we've played together for 3 years already and I
know that would be the perfect farewell gift. I was kinda
scared going into that game knowing we were underdogs. The
passion and desire in SHEARING and LOST to win made me want
to win it for them. I really didn't want u to feel that
u've let the team down cuz your regu really played v hard
for all ur games. And I knew the best way to make u two
feel better would be to win it! SHEARING and LOST, both of
u will be third-year veterans next year!

5. Of course I have to thank my regu, Eugene and Julius.
Eugene for his faith in my throwing so that he can serve
those high serves and his faith in setting balls for me
to 'kill' even though quite often I don't 'kill' as deadly
as he would like me to. Special mention to Julius, for
having to pick up the ball for me each time instead of me
picking it up myself as I did not want to strain my back.
And Julius u played so well against your opposite number.
Tennis or Takraw, bring it on man!

6. Thank sports sec, teammate and good fren tien phey who
had to be my towel boy. Must have been quite gross holding
on to my wet towel. Haha.

7. Thank captain yifeng and vice-capt ivan. Yifeng u have
been a most humble captain, always willing to seek advice
from the more experienced seniors. Ivan u display
servanthood, always the one seeing to the welfare needs of
the players like making sure those with blisters have
handiplasts. Thanks Ivan. Of course not to forget that Ivan
is probably one of the most regular at training and no
complaints at all from him that sometimes he don't get to
play that much at training. Next year is your year IVAN!

8. Thank jeremy for hanging in there when he got injured
right after being substituted in for julius against
sheares. If he had not fought and won the rest of the set
albeit being injured, we might have been knocked out in the
semis cuz we would have had to play the 3rd decider set
with him being injured.

9. Thank the rest who have not given up on takraw and still
fighting for the first team place, even after two to three
years. TH Takraw hasn't given up on you yet so dun give up
on yourself and challenge this year's first-teamers for ur
place in the top 3 regus. You know who u all, don't need to
say.

10. Thanks everyone again for these 3 years of sweet
memories at takraw
