Vampire Notes for Children of the Night series...

Ok, this is mainly for my benefit but if you're interested
you can read them and let me know what you think....

Quasasoon- Vampire. Also called Children of the
Night. They were the original inhabitants of Atlantis.

Cheta- Vampire Hunters also called Children of the
Isle. Normal humans trained to fight as vampires and to
seduce them. They are considered the vampires most alluring
prey, as the to them the lure of being with one so fragile
compared to their strength, yet so powerful as they hold
the secrets of how to kill the vampire is the ultimate
intrigue. Essentially they are servants, yet masters of the
vampire. Trained to be their companions and mates and to
ultimately become vampires themselves. They are trained in
the ways of how to move, to seduce, how to kill, and how to
love a or be like a vampire. The Cheta are mainly made up
of men due to the physical nature of the vampire. Women
have more extensive training, as they must make up for
their lack of strength with flexablity and endurance.
Female Cheta are considered the flowers of the Isle,
because their first methods of capturing the vampire is to
just talk them out of their anger or moonlit madness.
Cheta's purpose is to teach the young vampire the balance
of the hunter and the prey. Therefore to understand this
the vampire him/herself must be the prey first. The vampire
learns to know the fragility of the human and their quirks
by living as one, in turn being nourished by the Cheta
Master's blood. When the Cheta believes the vampire is ready
to be set free and to be master the Cheta will either leave
the vampire, or stay out of love to be their servant.
Thoung in official circles the Cheta are considered
servants, the vampire considers them equals. In most cases
the Cheta and the vampire become lovers if they are of the
opposite sex, and given time enough they will be mates. If
they are not bound as a mate, the Cheta usually takes the
route of freedom and leaves.

Christopher Vashaa- Oldest living vampire to our
day. Surrendered himself to the sun after his last wife,
who chose to become a modern day ichava/i, died in
fulfillement to a vow he made to his first wife who was a
Cheta. Only known vampire to have experienced true love
twice in his life. Also the last of the pure blooded
vampire. He was the oldest of 3 children and outlived all
his mates and pure blood children (most died in the Black
Plague and in the Salem Witch Trial era).

Surrendered to the sun- the vampire expression for
dying by choice. Gave rise to the old wive's tale of
vampires not being able to survive in daylight. If a
vampire leaves him/herself to not drink the blood of a
human for over 2 years, his vampiric ablities begin to
crumble away, making him as vulnerable as his prey, only
with the ablity to surrender his life at will which will be
taken with the dawning of the sun. The other way this can
happen is that the vampire who wishes to purge his life
will lower his internal body stats to near death and let
the sun do the rest via it's heat. Once his stats are
lowered the vampire basically falls into a deep, never
waking sleep. If the vampire decides to live out his days
to their fullest after having deprived himself of the
nourishment he will never cease to crave he will have at
most 120 years left. If he continues to nourish himself, he
can live for thousands of years before dying.
