right me; wrong time

i just saw peyton place. i LOVE movies from the fifties;
there's such an eye for color and plain elegance. those
gals and guys looked wonderful if they were just out for a
ride. i love hats and gloves. lest u think i'm just one of
those lopsided, nostalgia fans, let me tell u i know about
the downside. they'd expect me to keep my mouth shut (some
perverted "bastion" of the community would want my legs
open) and shuffle in and out of the back door. i was born
on the ass end of the fifties. 1959 to be specific; i used
to say it was a great year for champagne and little girls.

i like how fifties' movies started addressing societal
problems with some finesse. i don't have to see the actual
raping of a woman for effect like they do now. shit,
they'll show just about anything on tv and movies. except
a man fucking another dude in the ass. we haven't see that
yet; i don't want to see it either. i want to stay on good
terms with my stomach.

another good movie is "a summer's place". that shelley
winters was a damned good actress. again, another movie
that addressed the hometown snobbery and scandalous
behavior. back to peyton place, i wish someone had smacked
marian's face in the courtroom. she was the one spreading
the nasty gossip about allison mckenzie and norman
whatever-his-last-name was.

well, i couldn't find "peyton place" or "a summer's place"
on kazaa. ppl don't know what the fuck they're missing. i
just feel so restless. i wish i had a home like those ppl
do. not extravagant -- just my own roof over my head.

i wish.
