Trouble Breathing

I resolve to.....

Work is boring for me today cause there's no work to
do. I'm waiting on everyone else again. Can't wait for
movie night tonight though.

I felt like crap last night and early this morning, but it
seems to be lifting. I'm feeling better. We'll just see how
long that lasts.

I made New Year's resolutions today--the first time I've
actually sat down and done such a thing. They're pretty
realistic goals for next year. I've posted my list below:

NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTIONS: THINGS TO
ACCOMPLISH IN 2004

1) Start a savings account: Minimum $20 from each
paycheck goes into it. Add to whenever I can afford to.
That could include tax return, bonuses, cash from
selling something on e-Bay, etc.

2) Learn Quark Express. Have Regina teach me the
basics and work with it as often as possible. One night
a week is a realistic goal.

3) Take advantage of ways to earn extra money. Don’t
let laziness or the hassle of it get in the way. But be
mindful of if the effort to earn that money is worth it.

4) Attempt to go back and get my Associate’s Degree.
At least take a day and go to the Community College to
find out what it would take.

5) Eat better/exercise a little more. Try to get into yoga.
Get on some sort of schedule where we eat out one
night a week (at a nice place) and then cook at home
the other nights. Do more shopping for food, less
fast-food. The would also involve curtailing smoking
habits. Attempt to get under a pack a day. That’s a
reasonable goal.

6) Take a day and clean—really clean the house. And
do it early (January/February). This would involve: carpet
cleaning the entire house, forcing Mike to clean his
room properly, fixing the tile downstairs, attempting to
fix the dishwasher, changing all the light bulbs and the
air filter, ridding the couches of cat hair, cleaning the
windows and doors, cleaning the bathrooms, hanging
the rest of my posters, organizing my newspapers,
cleaning out the garage and sweeping the
balconies/adding something to them to make them
more attractive. It would also mean stocking the house
with supplies. Repeat this process again in June/July
and again in November/December.

7) Fix the window on my truck. Either pay the damn
money or get serious about having someone fix it for
me. (Regina’s brother?). Also need to change out all
the fluids, change the windshield wipers, clean it inside
and out, and vacuum.

8) Get together with Tony, others to play music more.
Good stress reliever, don’t be lazy about it. It’s also
decent exercise.

9) Learn to better manage my times/dates. Get a wall
calendar and take a day to collect/remember
everyone’s B-days, special dates, etc. I’m tired of
"feeling like there’s something I should probably be
doing." There is.

10) Attempt to go to bed earlier/get up earlier. I’ve been
better about it lately. But it needs to improve.

11) Go to the dentist and have them fix/help my teeth.
Not something you want to do, but it needs to be done.
Do it sooner than later, before it gets worse.

THINGS I’D LIKE TO DO IN 2004:
—See a few more sporting events. Go to a Rebel
basketball game, a 51s game and maybe take a
weekend road trip to see the Mets play in LA or Phoenix.

—Go to Mardi Gras. I say this every year, and it’s
expensive, but I’d like to do it.

—Go camping at least one weekend in the summer

—Go on the cruise that Geoff is talking about. Might be
something that would have to wait until 2005.

—Start getting someplace on researching the Bay Area
effectively. I’ve been doing this for years and I still don’t
have solid ideas of the best way to move there.

—See more movies in the theater. (Starting to do that
now, but it’s pricey.)

—Revive my annual SuperBowl parties.

—Play a few shows onstage again. It feels so good.
