Dad to the rescue

I was going to start my entry today with a list of things
for which I have to be grateful, so my dad calling this
morning definitely has to go on TOP of the list as the
biggest thing for which I am grateful TODAY:

I am thankful for my family - for the love of my father; I
am thankful that my dad is going to send me $300 to put
towards the balance of November's rent, so the only thing I
have to worry about now is December's rent!

I am thankful that at THIS MOMENT I still have a place to
call my own; a roof over my head; a warm bed to sleep in;
clothes to wear; food to put in my stomach; a car to get me
wear I need to go

I am thankful for my beautiful daughter

I am thankful I still have electricity and cable so I can
use the internet and watch TV and have light in my
apartment; I am thankful that the phone company worked with
me today so that they won't disconnect the phone tomorrow
as my late notice indicated; I am thankful they have given
me till Friday to make the $100 payment

I am thankful for the use of all my senses; I am thankful
for the inherent ability I have to think and walk and talk

I am thankful for my faith in a power greater than myself;
I am thankful to God for always watching over me and my
family

I am thankful for the delicious coffee I made this morning

I am thankful for the ability I have to work and go back to
school; and I am thankful I have a job

I will continue to maintain an attitude of gratitude

I will make every effort not to dwell on the hardships, on
the negatives ... because to worry is worthless, to
surrender is serenity ... and no matter what I will
remember that there is always someone somewhere else who
has it much worse - I will not think on the other of the
side of the coin wherein there are also people who have it
much better because to do so would be fruitless.
